The finished fox painting.

Today after dinner I finished the fox painting.
All I needed to do was the face and the front bit, and a few finishing touches here and there.
I started with the face so that I wouldn't be leaning in wet paint when doing the face. I did the face in a kind of burgundy colour a little darker than on the upper part if the front leg. Then I added raw sienna to the lighter parts and for the ears. I also added touches of orange here and there. The eyes are in shadow so I did those darker. I adjusted the nose and mouth and added a grey glint in the eye.
Then I started on the front using different shades of grey from a pinky grey to a violety grey and a touch of black and white here and there. I added in the colours in layers.
Then I added touches of black and white here and there and added in his whiskers with a tiny brush.
And now I consider him finished and he's currently drying off in the dining room. In fact he's probably already dry by now.
I actually think this fox is the best painting I've ever done.
