Butterfly - a memory

I was in school those days I caught a butterfly that was sitting on a flower in our garden. It was huge. I took it to school and put it in my desk drawer. I forgot to take it home and it was the week end. When I returned to school the first thing I did was to open my desk drawer and I was shocked to see thousands of eggs all over the place and the butterfly was still there. I did not know what to do with those eggs. I possibly could not have them there and so had to most unwillingly get rid of them all This memory haunts me even now. Image credit:

Oh, that’s sad, but you didn’t do it with bad intentions.

I just wanted the class to see it. It did not fly but stayed with me.

This is a moth, not sure the name. Entomologist Patrick Tobin got an email including a photo of what he immediately recognized as an Atlas moth on a garage door in Bellevue, Washington, he told The Seattle Times. Wildlife officials believe this is the first time the moth has been spotted in the U.S. Bad memories can hang around way too long in our minds unfortunately.
An Atlas moth, which can have a wingspan of almost 10 inches, was just spotted in Washington state.

I picked that picture from Wikimedia Commons and there they have called it a big butterfly. Thanks for the link

@allknowing I saw that but personally I don't trust Wikimedia. It is similar to a moth I found years ago. You are welcome.
