I have been Mia because I was trying to write a book for NaNoWriMo. I was discussing it with another Nano person and when I talked about it, it seemed so ridiculous that I decided not to finish it. I have been excited to write the story because I have been thinking about it for a long time.
I think I will work on my shorter pieces instead.
Is anyone else here doing something for NaNo? How do you feel about it? How is it going for you?

I've never taken part in NaNo. I'm sorry your book didn't work out. Have a good week.

@akalinus I should drag out all the steno books I have with partial books and stories written and try to complete them.

@LindaOHio Maybe you could find a way to combine some of the favorite things you wrote and make it something brand new.

I tried several different years and found that the story was going wrong. I am not an author. I have had things in national magazines and gotten paid. I had others in magazines and never got the promised payment.
I don't know why I ever thought I could write and sell a novel.

I never did this but for a number of years I did join the one poem a day in April and then it was just burn out because to write poetry I have to be inspired and not every day it happens. There was not much excitement about all I wrote so I stopped doing this challenge,

Have you ever thought of keeping a poetic journal? When you are inspired by a sunrise of a new day, or something you see or hear, record it in a journal. When it is time to write, read your journal entries and recapture those moments. I think poetry is emotion in print.

@akalinus I have a special notebook I jot down quickly inspired thoughts to turn into poems. However, now that I am doing other things as well as taking surveys, posting to Vocal Media, and keeping up with my blogging there is just a lot on my plate so I don't care to get into the challenge again, I started taking the poetry challenge when I was just new to the online world and I had plenty of time for it.

@RasmaSandra I have found out that I can't do everything at the same time. We all have to pick and choose what we want to do and change it when you need to.
