My Shower Growled at Me

I showered this morning like I do most mornings. I soaped up and used the shower hose to rinse it all off. I heard a loud noise like growling and thumping. It grew louder and louder. It sounded like a wounded animal. Was I in a Stephen King movie? I heard my friend that I rent a room from yelling, wondering what that noise was. All I could tell her was I don't know. I never heard anything like that before. Now, I am afraid to go into the bathroom. Something is living in there and I disturbed it. Maybe! Does your shower growl at you? Is something living in there? Did anything weird happen to you lately? Please tell us about it.

I hope you found the source of the noise. I've never had anything growl at me when in the shower.

When I first heard that, I thought of the movie "Psycho." I have taken many showers since that happened and never heard that sound coming from my shower again. Thank Goodness.

@just4him I don't know what happened that day. I only know that it scared the heck out of me. I used body wipes for the next two days, afraid to use the shower again. It works without growling now.

@akalinus I'm glad it never happened again.

Last night my front door knob kept twisting, but when I went to the peephole, no one was there. I assumed they were standing out of the line of sight, but it was weird. I started yelling through the door, and eventually it quit. I really hope you don’t have an animal lurking around underneath the home.

@akalinus I’m not sure if I can afford a doorbell camera, but maybe a Black Friday sale will make it affordable.

@AmbiePam Just be very careful. Someone was trying to get into your house. Maybe they are in the wrong place. You need to know who it is and why they are turning your knob. I had that happen and was scared out of my wits. Turned out it was a drunk at the wrong house.

I would be very scared if that happened. If they don't bother to knock, they are up to no good. Be very careful. and lock everything up for a while in case it is an unbalanced person. Get a doorbell camera, too. Call the police if it happens again.

Oh geez, what in the world was that? Our shower doesn't growl, but the toilet kinda makes funny noises every now and then. It sounds like the end part of a flush - weird.

That's weird. If your toilet and my shower got married, I wonder what their children would be like.

No, my shower doesn't do that. Tell your friend that the shower is making those noises and it could be related to air in the lines or water pressure problems in the system.

I think that is one thing she really would not want to hear. At least, it was not my fault. She did ask why I took the shower hose down to use but I have done that many times.

@akalinus If the shower head is on a hose, it's made to do that and you didn't do anything wrong.

@DaddyEvil I did it just like I always do. There was nothing unusual except that growling and her thumping on the door wondering what that noise was.

That does sound scary but maybe there was air in the pipes and that make the shower make that loud noise.

I hope something isn't going wrong with the plumbing. Other than that, I have no idea what the problem might be. Have a great day. Nothing weird going on here.

My friend has her own shower and she has never mentioned hearing that. I hope the plumbing is okay. I would hate to think I broke it.

@akalinus That would be disturbing. I hope it isn't getting turned on watching you shower. I've heard that some showers can make quite lascivious grunts if they take a fancy to whoever cosies up to them. Try taking cold showers - that might dampen its ardour.

It would have to be awfully desperate to pick me. Thanks for the laugh, though.

Sometimes it might be an airlock in a pipe.

I wonder how much it costs to fix something like that. Or does it work itself out eventually?

@akalinus I don't really know. I don't think they work themselves out but how they start off I don't know either.
