Getting countertop installed tomorrow

The countertop will be installed tomorrow. I wasn’t told when the guys will come to get it done so I have to wake up early just in case. When they initially came to measure and cut out templates it was a little after 8am. I want to be up and showered before 8am to be on the safe side. Hopefully they won’t come earlier than that.
Once the countertop is installed I wanna ask if there is enough stone left to maybe put some of it for the backsplash. I doubt there will be enough for an entire backsplash. But maybe it will be enough to put just behind the stove as that’s what hubby wants. Not sure how that’s gonna look though. I just can’t picture it with granite behind the stove and tile everywhere else.
And I wonder how much that will cost. I doubt it’s included in the price we paid for the countertop. But who knows. We are getting a windowsill for the kitchen and a 12 x 12 inch cutting board too. That’s not gonna cost us extra.

I bet it will be amazing once it's finally done.

The countertop looks really good. Love it! And we never picked it as our option. My mom suggested it when she came with me the last time. Glad she did.

Will have to find out. If installation is per square foot then probably it will be extra.

@AmbiePam The house has not been renovated since we moved it there initially in the 90s. Long overdue.

Yep. Can’t wait! But we are remodeling living room bathroom. And then my mom wants to repaint living and dining rooms and stairs walls and I think redo stairs and floor. If she does all that we’ve got more to deal with.

I was told it’s easier to clean but who knows. Besides, I’m not exactly a lover of cleaning lol.

@lovebuglena Oh is it? I was thinking it would be a rough surface but what do I know

@RebeccasFarm It is polished stone so not rough. If you do leather finish then it is kinda rough.

@lovebuglena I have a typo here, I was thinking to the stone left from the countertop to make the backsplash.

What is a countertop board? I asked the guy that came to install the countertop and he said it will cost us to put it behind the stove as they have to cut it and make the edges thinner.

The countertop got installed. Now we need the backsplash. Maybe we will put the stone behind the stove as well. Have to find out how much it will cost. Too bad we don't have enough material for the entire backsplash.

Thank you. Hope they won’t have trouble bringing it up. Kitchen is on second floor and space to get up is not very wide.
