Day 124 2 Corinthians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, To the church of God, which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in all Achaia. 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. 6 Now if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. 7 Our hope for you is steadfast, because we know that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you will partake of the consolation. When troubles come your way or to those you know, do you comfort them? Do they comfort you? Everyone goes through troubles of many kinds. It’s the comfort you receive from others and the comfort you give that helps them endure trouble. In his second epistle to the church at Corinth, Paul began with a blessing and prayer for the church. He blessed God who comforted them in their tribulations, knowing that God was a God of mercy and comforted them in their sufferings. He knew their sufferings brought their salvation through Christ Jesus. They were not alone, but they were also to comfort one another with the same comfort they received through Christ Jesus. Christians throughout the world suffer because they are Christians. They face death every day by those who reject the gospel of Jesus Christ. Yet in their sufferings, they bring comfort to those who stand steadfast in their salvation. When people see their sufferings and the hope they have in Jesus Christ, they bring salvation to them and the hope they have in Jesus Christ. So that instead of bemoaning their suffering, they bless God because He brought salvation and comfort to those who believed. Not all Christians suffer for their faith. It takes a heart of compassion to stand with those who suffer every day, to comfort them, and let them know they aren’t alone; the blessing of God goes with them. Scripture says we will all suffer for our faith. We will all come under condemnation from Satan. You are not alone. For as Jesus suffered and died for your salvation, you can comfort those who suffer for the gospel. His suffering was not in vain. Jesus’ suffering brings comfort and salvation to everyone who believes in Him. Comfort those who mourn. Comfort those who face death and destruction at Satan’s hands. Bless God for your suffering which brought about salvation. Don’t let Satan get the victory in your suffering. Your suffering brings victory through Jesus Christ and the comfort He gives you. Let’s pray: Father, help me comfort those who suffer for the gospel. Give me a heart of compassion for those who suffer daily for You. Help me bring salvation and comfort to those who don’t know You. Give me Your strength to endure so that more people will know You and the salvation Jesus brought to everyone through His death and resurrection. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Most religions seem to receive suffering for their followers. Judaism has suffered a lot too. Yes, we need to be comforted and strengthened in our faith, at times of suffering, and this is where each member of the church, or fellow Christians, can help each other too.

Yes, they do. I agree, it's where we get our strength.
