George is doing well, and they are looking at switching up meds. He walked with PT today and he's getting stronger. Can't or won't talk much today. But, is trying. I'm glad to see how well he's doing. We want to move him forward, which we're trying to do here. Things sometimes get crazy. There's this guy who's down the hall that keeps screaming for help. He's likely confused, and seems quiet now but it's been a long night.

Hooray, George!!! Don’t forget to warn him that it’s not an overnight fix. I know we’d like the recovery to be a quick as the onset was, but sadly it doesn’t happen that way. Patience, George! Keep up the good work! And I’m praying for you both!!!!!

Yeah. We had a setback with losing his voice. ut, I'm hoping he'll get it back soon.

@kaylachan — has he had a tube in his throat? That, or maybe trying to produce productive coughs, can cause a vocal problem. (I’ll frequently lose my voice from allergies.).

@FourWalls Not for a coupe of weeks. He was talking decently a couple of days ago, but over the last couple of days, he seems to be struggling to speak.

He never stopped. He just needs supervision because he might be a fall risk.

@kaylachan I sure wish for everyone else’s sake there was a room away from everyone else trying to recover.

Wonderful news!! He improved so much after you moved him. I am glad he is doing better.
My Mom screamed during the night the last days of her life when she was hospitalized. She could not speak when awake, but she arrived to scream and ask for help during the night.

Glad George is improving. Hope he can walk on his own soon. Having a bedridden loved one at home or hospital is very stressful.

One day at a time. I'm glad George is doing so well. Whenever I go to the ER there always seems to be an old person screaming for help. Sad. Hope you and George have a good day.

Sometimes when your body/mind is working on one skill (walking) another skill rests (talking). I hope that is the case for George. He is working very hard to move back to doing both. This is a good update.

That would be trying. When friend had his stroke and was in the hospital for a brief time, his roommate kept trying to get out of bed and had to have restraints used on him.. He wasn't supposed to be getting up for some reason..I guess they thought he wasn't capable and would wander. and didn't seem to understand that he was limited in what he could do..although he seemed to be oriented otherwise..name, address, phone number etc.
