Day 151 1 Timothy 6:13 I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen. 17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. 20 O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge— 21 by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith. Grace be with you. Amen. (NKJV) How many people puff themselves up, believing they are better than everyone else? They go through life thinking nothing will touch them, and they can do whatever they want without condemnation. Paul told Timothy only one person was blameless. He alone is the only Potentate, King of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus Christ. Though he put Him to death on the cross, Pontius Pilate confessed His innocence when he told the crowd he found no fault in Him. Only Jesus Christ is blameless, immortal, and worthy of honor and everlasting power. Paul told Timothy to command those who were rich not to be haughty or trust in uncertain riches, but only in the living God who gives everyone all things to enjoy. They were to do good, ready to give, willing to share, storing up a good foundation of good works, laying hold of eternal life by which they were rich. He also told Timothy to avoid profane and idle babbling and contradictions of what people called knowledge and strayed from the faith. Many Christians are like those Paul told Timothy to guard himself against: puffed up and arrogant. They hold a position in the body of Christ, they believe makes them unapproachable. No one is unapproachable. They answer to God in everything they do. You also know Christians who spend their time in idle gossip and contradict everything someone tells them concerning God’s Word. Paul said to avoid them because they strayed from their faith. They think they have everything when they have nothing. Christians who live according to the Word of God, as Paul instructed Timothy, will give honor and glory to Jesus Christ who alone is worthy. They live humbly before God. They do not puff themselves up but give to those in need, sharing in the riches of Jesus Christ to good works. What kind of Christian are you? Humble yourselves before Christ Jesus and become rich in your profession of faith in Him. Then you will never stray from the gospel of Jesus Christ and will see Him when you pass into glory to be with Him for eternity. Let’s pray: Father, help me to live my life in service to You. Not in haughtiness thinking myself better than others, but humbly before You in everything I say and do. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. I've met several people in my lifetime that think they're better than everyone else. I feel sorry for these people because they are missing out on a lot in their lives. Have a blessed weekend.

Yes, to remain humble, should be the goal of all Christians, as, as soon as they become full of pride instead, thinking that they have accomplished things, they actually take a step back from God, and into themselves, filling themselves with pride, and not remaining humble in the company of the Lord.
