I Just Have No Luck

For the life of me, sometimes I just can't understand how things go haywire for me so quickly. I wrote the other day about my "S" key becoming stuck and just continuously typing esses, which I could not fix other than to plug in an external keyboard, which only slightly solved the problem.
Then, this morning I went to use the computer and found that I had no Internet access.
At first I thought it was the router, but my phone had access and so did the TV. When I looked further into it the driver for my WIFI was not working and could not be fixed.
I tried several things, but it just wouldn't work. So, that was it. I needed to buy a new computer. At once. This is part of the way I make my living after all and beyond that, all the bills get paid via it as well. So, it's simply not an option to be without one. Period.
Went out to OfficeMax and they had a Dell in stock for $500 and I snatched it up and I am mostly back in business aside from the usual pains of starting fresh and getting all of my access back everywhere.
What I bought is essentially the same computer I had before. I still can access the old one. I just can't get on the Internet. I think I will still have the old one repaired. But we'll see.

When I lost access to the Internet that was it. Done deal. Then I watched a YouTube video and figured out how to go into the BIOS at startup and was able to fix it. Ugh. It at least saves me from possibly having to take it in. I can deal with the keyboard issue but couldn't the Internet one—and I was able to effectively disable the built in keyboard so it only recognizes my external one.

$500 for a Dell computer sounds like a good deal. And you can get the old computer repaired.

Luckily, I was able to do two things on the old computer. One was to disable the built in keyboard and the other was to reestablish the Internet connection. There was a video I watched on YouTube that said to go through the BIOS to reset the driver, and it worked. If the external keyboard continues to work, I may not have to take it in, which would be good since that would save me some money. Fingers crossed.

When my laptop went out a year or so ago, I panicked. I went out immediately and bought a new one. And also a new desktop. Both Apple computers, so you know I paid a pretty penny for both. But I'd just about die if I went 5 minutes without computer access. lol

Technological problems make me more than mad
I hope you solve yours as soon as possible and having to pay the least.

My Dell hasn't done the "lock up" thing in a couple of months now; so I"m quite surprised. I was beginning to think that I needed a new computer. I'm glad you got a new one. Have a good weekend.

Gee, it sounds like one of my type problems. Either your computer developed an "S" stutter, or you have cats like mine who leak kitty litter on the keyboard and you have to use a "Toni" fix and turn the keyboard upside down and slap it on the back a few times. I have to do that periodically with my cable box too when it won't work right and it seems like enough litter comes out to fill the litter box. Of course last night I had to reset my cable box to get the guide back and I got the guide back on both boxes. There is times that I totally hate technology!!!!
