I find it weird that extracted compound 6-MSITC from wasabi can improve memory. This is according to the research team of Tohoku University in Japan. I wondered if how accurate this finding for aged group between 60 and 80 individuals. It also claimed that it can slow down the progress of dementia. If you have the chance, would you like to try this wasabi supplement? Image Credit: img-s-msn-com

Wasabi is the Japanese horseradish, it is a plant of the same family as winter cress and mustard I researched and I found Wasabi might help healthy older adults who don’t have any cognitive issues improve their memory. But it comes from a small Japanese study and it's not confirmed.

This is also what I was thinking of when reading the article. I was also looking for its statistics, but I cannot find one.

@Shavkat In the past few weeks some studies suggested that the olive oil helps to keep to improve memory, others published that it is the coffee. Well my husband has coffee and olive oil every day and it did not work for him... he also often has wasabi.

@LadyDuck I guess the findings are not accurate. I also learned that dementia is progressive and it cannot be cured.

Wasabi is always taken with sushi and sashmi. I love this combination. It's nice to know that wasabi has other benefits too.

All I know is that wasabi is a spicy condiment. I guess the extracted compound does not have this property.
