Bacon is an ingredient that can add so much to a dish. With its smokey flavor, crunchiness, and aroma why shouldn't we have a special day to celebrate it. What is your favorite way to serve bacon? On the side, as a sandwich, in a casserole. What concoction sizzles your taste buds? What is the weirdest way you've seen bacon prepared for a meal? And while you're thinking about which question you want to respond to, or perhaps all of them, here are some bacons filled facts I'd like to share with you. Time to "bring home the bacon." Some Fun Bacon Facts: -According to a survey, over half the U.S. population said they used a pound or more of bacon in 2020. -The United States and Canada make bacon from the pork belly. Other countries use the side and back cuts of pork. - One slice of bacon contains approximately 43 calories. The bad news is It also has 9 mg of cholesterol and 1.1 gram of saturated fat (that's the not-so-good fat). -Bacon helped make explosives during WWII. In closing, I'd like to give a shout out to an actor who I've seen in many films, KEVIN BACON. Happy NATIONAL BACON DAY!!! Source Info- National Day Calendar Photo- Pixabay

I rarely have bacon, but boy do I love it. My mom used to wrap bacon around about five green beans, and serve it that way. My sister now does that with her kids. I think that might be my favorite way to eat bacon.

I cook something similar. I fry canned, drained green beans in bacon grease with fried bacon pieces and brown sugar.

I too enjoy a nice BLT sandwich. Here are some other ways to serve bacon: 1. Bacon, egg & cheese on a bagel or roll 2. Bacon cheeseburger 3. As a topping on salad 4. Sprinkled in soup *One weird bacon idea mentioned was to use it in Apple pie or try a Maple Bacon Ice Cream. Seems it goes well with sweet desserts.

Well, like many foods we eat the crunchy truth about bacon OT is that the salt content makes it an unhealthy food source for those with HBP. So, moderation is key. Other fun-filled bacon facts: -There’s a bacon sculpture of Kevin Bacon. -There is a bacon cologne scent produced by a company called Fargginay. -The first meal on the moon was bacon along with other items like sugar cookies, coffee and pineapple-grapefruit drink. He seriously asks the question, "What is your favorite way to serve bacon?" as if there is a favorite way other than simply eating bacon any way it can be served. It's bacon, for Heaven's sake. It's ALL good. lol That being said, when I eat it, I like it nice and crispy.

I’m allergic to pork, so my favorite way to enjoy it is having someone else eat it for me.

I usually have bacon when we travel. I love a BLT sandwich. There are some restaurants that specialize in bacon and even have bacon cocktails. A bacon donut sounds like it would be good...sweet and savory. Have a great New Year's Eve.
