How Do You Know You Are Being Lied To?

In social media there is one fake tanned, psychopathic, and idiotic character who lies about loving America, wanting to make America great again, never committing fraud, never raping anyone, never bilked contractors out of thousands of $$$$, about being religious, not being a misogynist, and is an insurrectionist. Some people believe this person's lies. A lot of them. They don't seem to know how to use the interest to check the validity of statements made by these types of liars. Here is a list of these things to check to see if they are being lied to. 1. Figety body movements. These people might open and close their hands or, even put them in their pockets. 2. They cover their face or rub their nose. 3. Words are accompanied by a fake smile. 4. They purse their mouth. 5. Their pupils are dialating. 6. Blinking of the eyes is super slow. 7. They are using a lot of denial words like "trust me," "to be perfectly honest," and "honestly." Watch this person in his many speeches and see how many times he does these things.

You don't always know. While those tails are common, they don't always mean someone's lying to you. In reality, you need to use your own judgment to decide if said person could be trusted.

That too. And when a man is already charged with 91 counts in a federal court I think there could be some honesty issues.

@celticeagle I don't really care much for what's going on with Trump, if I were being honest. Positions in general, aren't known for "being honest". Just about every president has had some scandal to their name, and we fail to remember the good they've done.

@kaylachan .......I think you meant 'politicians' and yes they have a bad rep. but we should at least vote for the one who seems to have the most brain cells and that sure isn't the Putz. Even his wife can't stand to be around him.

Many of the people who have a say in politics and government are like chameleons. They change in many ways just to get people to believe in them. I think it is important to get to know as much as possible about a person and then decide if they might be lying or not.

Yes, that is true. I agree that getting to them and how they act is crucial to reading whether they are lying or not. This is just one way.

Right. And doesn't even have a favorite part of the bible. It's so personal he just couldn't name one.

@celticeagle That's me too. People know immediately if I even try to lie, which I don't.

I don´t check for signs in such a scientific way. But, like when I´m offered bad food, my body rejects it.

@marguicha .......I think that just by common sense a person should know who the better opponent would be.

@celticeagle I was raised among the intellectual people of my country. And they respectfully shared different points of views. But elsewhere, I only see agressive people. Political debates are not centered in what the people who debate think but on how wrong is the other. I find that poor and disgusting.

A person like that should not be allowed to run for office.

Lie detection is actually pretty hard to detect, according so some psychology articles I've read. But when someone is a habitual liar, you can take what they say with a grain of salt, and just fact-check them later. One person you referred to has difficulty completing sentences, so he has "that's not what I said," or "that's not what I meant," as a defense.

If know the person I don't think it is that hard. Strangers would be a different story.
