It's THAT Cold

The temperatures have plummeted to the depths the last couple of days. It's just godawful. But it is what it is.
In the garage we keep an extra refrigerator. It's mostly for adult beverages like the flavored drinks my wife likes to drink and beer. We also keep some soda and water in there for good measure.
It basically just doesn't have to be stuff that takes up space in the main refrigerator in the house. Plus, it gives us some extra freezer space as well.
But it is SO cold outside, and of course in the garage, that even the stuff INSIDE the refrigerator is freezing. We are supposed to have a warm up into the high 30s over the next couple of days, and while that's not great, with having to deal with these subzero temperatures, it will feel like summer.

Our lowest temperature of the year so far will occur tonight. We will get down to a balmy 28 degrees. Florida is not prepared for this.

@porwest Speaking of brisk, we had strong winds this morning, they said the wind chill made it feel like 15. They weren’t wrong.

@moffittjc I must say, that's pretty cold for Florida. If I were a snowbird there right now, I would be pissed. lol

Monday it will be in the 30s; and this cold spell will end....for now. Have a good day and keep warm.

Oh my, that's terrible. It's almost funny that your fridge is freezing in the garage unless it's your own fridge! Sure hope things warm up soon. Have you lost electricity through this cold spell?

@porwest That's good to know. We have a couple of them and Dale tries to keep gas for them. (One is enough, but we have an extra that a friend gave us.) I 'd love to have a Generac that starts automatically in a blackout, but they're awfully expensive.

@1creekgirl Those WOULD be nice, and our power tends to go out enough that it would even be justified. Ours is just a small one that will power a couple of lights, a fan, a space heater, the TV and stuff like that. We use it for the camper as well from time to time.

Crazy how cold it is in some parts of the US. Our temperatures are in the 20s which almost sounds like a heat wave compared to other places. Hope nothing in your refrigerator explodes to those freezing temperatures.
