Life's simple pleasures are more needed now than ever before. Our world is at such a relentless pace and that is of no surprise. We see it each time we venture out. But how do other countries share words describing well-being? Such as hygge in Danish which moves beyond the physical and captures the beauty of simplicity and joy.
A Siberian word, merak, dazzles us with the feeling of bliss and represents the simplest of small pleasures.
The German term waldeinsamkeit revisits the pure solitude of the woods. It brings together wald(forest) and einsamkeit (solitude) and describes the deep connection between nature and individuals. There seems to be a German affinity for the spiritual solace derived from the forest.
How about the Croatian term fjakea which is a particular state of mind and being? This one has to do with surrendering to the flow of time along with a sense of peace. Take the time to enjoy life.
The Japanese go a little deeper with a concept that has more to do with a process that is Ikigai. This has to do with all the broader actions that bring us happiness. This one will get you out of bed each morning.

Waldeinsamkeit is forest solitude, but not in a pleasant sense. It is an aspect of the loneliness, it describes a religious ascetic ideal that was part of the medieval monasticism in the West. I love to walk through the trails in the woods, but I would not like feeling a sense of loneliness. I want to feel happiness and peace when I am alone.

I don't believe I have ever felt loneliness when in the forest. What I felt was awe. Especially in the Redwoods.

@celticeagle It happened to me to feel loneliness in the forest, also a sense of anxiety, the fear never to get out to see a clearing again.

We have a melting pot of goodness right here if we would only look and listen;

That is what I always loved and still miss when I lived in Latvia taking all those nature walks into the woods,

That would certainly be nice. I would love to get back to the Redwoods before my material body is no more.
