I feel I need to clear a few things up.

I have noticed a lot of people think I'm running myself into the ground being both a wife and care giver. While it's true I can't leave George alone right now, it's not like I don't have time to sit down and rest. I give meds and meals three times a day. In-between George does what he wants. He can walk, get dressed and do a lot of things. I keep an ear out and make sure he's doing what he needs to do, but most of the time I'm doing the same things I've done pre-stroke. In fact, George is slowly starting to help with chores like collecting the mail and taking the garbage bin out. Okay, bringing it back.
Thease be small things, but they still are things I don't have to think about. He's asking about bills (even if I'm the one still paying them online), and wants to be part of the conversation. When people look at him, they think the stroke affected him more than it has. However, I know that's not entirely true. Yes, it has. But, I know he's still in there. Tube feeds, meds, those are the only real addations to my days.
I am so proud of him. I just wish he wasn't so stuborn and hard headed.

You're a good wife, Kayla. I know you're so happy George is improving so much.

He doesn't want to land back in the hospital. That's a lot to do with how quickly he's recovering.

I was wondering how things have been going
it's a lot of work when caring for a stroke person
but when they start feeling better it's even harder.
Making sure they are where their suppose to be
making sure they don't get lost o r hurt, worry
about something doesn't go hay wire on you.
keeping up with the bills & food & meals &
keeping the place clean, laundry dish's floor
kitchen bathroom, you have your hands full.

Except, nothing has really changed that much. Each time George gets up and walks, his fall risk decreases. He's getting stronger the more he does. I might have a bit more laundry, but I'm still doing it about twice a week. Prior to his stroke, I'd been paying bills online, anyway. And, we paid off the house. WIth George out of the hospital, my transportation bill is lower, too because I'm not grabbing an Uber daily, either. We have two appointments this month. One next. George's 'sister' can take us to the two, I only need to get an uber for one.

It's good to hear that you have time for yourself and that George is able to do things. I'm sure he feels good being able to help with certain things even if he still needs helps himself with other things.

I've never felt like I don't have time for myself. Just because I put him first.

Outsiders do not live it, so may misunderstand. Bob had a stroke in 2017 and there are still ways he is improving. He was in no way as badly injured as George was, you have a lot of healing to come yet.

He's doing his part. He needs to practice writing more to do his books, but I've been paying the bills. So no worries there.

Glad he is improving. I know the mental exhaustion of taking care of someone too. That's the hardest part to me.

Yes. He also seems to know his limits, too. He knows he's not ready to get behind the wheel, for example, and knows it makes our lives a bit harder. For now.

Being stubborn and hard-headed is probably why George is recovering so well. I wish the three of you a very good weekend.

You are doing what you have to, and I give you a lot of credit for that. It's not easy. But of course, when you love someone, it does take some of the "chore" out of things. I am glad to hear things are getting back to at least some semblance of normal for you, and that you can take a load off when you need to.

Yes. And, everyday he does a little more. I may have to fight with him a little more from time to time, but that'll improve day by day, too.

@porwest Everyone who saw him today (who saw him before) think he looks good.
