Dead Battery

I went out as promised as soon as it was daylight to start the car. I closed the trunk, and got in and turned the ignition. Not even a click. So ..... I planned to get rid of the car in March because it has too many issues and can't be fixed anymore. If I can get it jumped and working, that would be good. Otherwise, I'm going to call an organization that takes vehicles and be done with the car. I'm tired of its headaches. I think I could actually take a nap now that I don't have the car to worry about anymore. I already talked to my son about the car and my plans to get rid of it. True, this time he was half asleep when I called. Normally, at the time I called, he's on the road working. It's time to put this situation in God's hands and let Him work out the details. How is your day going? Are you finding detours in your plans? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

Yikes. Well, that's no good. Hopefully you can at least get it started and have it long enough to hold out until March.

@just4him well that would be helpful if your can get it found again. Will it start to get above freezing for the wind chill there next week?

I talked to a couple of people. All I need is an empty spot next to my car so I can get it jumped. I have cables.

@just4him Too bad the picture is not current. That's the only car in the parking lot.

That is unlucky, there is no reason to replace the battery if you plan to get rid of the car. I hope you can find a good deal soon.

@just4him We have to keep the title with us all the time when we use the car. It is all the time in my hand bag.

@LadyDuck I have the registration with me all the time, but not the title. It's the same as the registration except that the title has the information on the back for selling the car.

I am sorry that your vehicle is causing you gried. My hubs took his SUV in last autumn for something, and they suggested another 'fix' for it, and he said no thanks, I don't need this vehicle, and the mechanic explained that he sold used cars wholesale and offered him almost $10K right on the spot. He didn't take it, but he knows where he will go when he needs to get rid of it.

@just4him Does your son know of anyone who does wholesale sales for cars?

We've taken many vehicles to the salvage yard in the areas. Sometimes they'll even pay you something for it. I think the metal and parts might be worth something to them. It would depend on how your could transport it. You'd also want to find out first who might take it.

Have you heard of Rawhide? It is a home for troubled boys started by Bart Starr. They take vehicles and fix them. They'll pick them up free.

@just4him no, I've never heard of that. That's great that they'll pick it up and fix it. Have your been saving money for a newer car for yourself?

@MarshaMusselman I'm working on it. It's hard to save when the only money is SS. My son has a plan to get a car for me. I talked to him a short while ago, and he said to wait until after he gets the taxes taken care of. I can do that.

One thing I do hate is having an unreliable car. I hope you're able to replace it without too much trauma - presuming you intend to replace it of course.

I'm hoping to get a jump, but not until this cold snap is done. Warmer weather on Monday and next week.

Four years ago I had a Van that had lots of issues. I looked it up online for places around my area that would pick up junk cars for cash. I found a place online and they were real prompt. I didn't get much cash. But I got something and I was grateful to get that problem off my hands quickly. Search online and see what you can find near where you live.

A jump start might fix it since you did leave the trunk open. If it was open enough for the light to be on that would do it. Especially in the cold

That's a shame, but maybe it wasn't a good time to be out on the streets anyway, from the looks of it That's the best way to handle the situation any day God will take care of you as he has always done.

@just4him that's the best way to handle any situation in my book put it in his hands OR lay it at his feet, & let his blessings shine.
