Well, that went well.

George and I just got back from the surgon's office. He's looking real good right now. They have concerns in reguards to his heart and lungs before putting him under the knife. He's not really wanting surgury, but he has to get a lot stronger first. Things need to be looking good, to ensure he can tolorate it. And, while I won't force it on him, we're giving his brain more time to heal to ensure he fully understands what he's saying 'no' to.

What is the surgery supposed to be for?

To fix what doctor's believe caused the stroke.

@snowy22315 No. That seems to be resolved. Medications to 'control' it have been discontinued. We're not thinking it was his heart at all, but rather blockages in some arties.

Time is very necessary. The brain fog after a stroke is real. Ia am glad things are looking good.

The " fog" part is clearing up. He's able to express some of his confusion a little more.

I will keep George in my prayers. Why does he have to have surgery? I hope you, George, and Chilly have a good weekend,

@RasmaSandra I will. Right now sergury isn't on the table. We're giving George more time to heal. Right now we can't disirn if he understands what he's saying 'no' to. He made it clear he doesn't want sergury, and legally we can't force him. But, he needs more time.

They want to fix the arties in his neck to improve bloodflow and hopefully prevent future strokes.

I hadn’t heard he needed surgery. Or if I did, I must have forgotten.

Well, I never went into detail about it, because our focus was and still is on healing from the stroke, itself.

There are times when surgery is the only thing to do. I hope he gets well.

I suppose the surgeon wants to clean his arteries. I think that it's a lot better to wait until he is more strong.

In a lot of ways I think he understands more than he can tell us right now.

I can imagine how he feels. When you are alive you just want to get on with living. But I guess sometimes that means "taking care of what's under the hood" to do that. All my best wishes to you and George.

That's a good thing that the surgeon is not in a rush, and wants him a lot stronger first. That's good that you are waiting until he fully understands what it all would entail. I know he has come a long way already.
