Seasonal Affective Depressive Disorder. Is this you? It's me. Winter is always difficult for me due to the lack of warm sunshine. Most of the time I need to keep the drapes closed, also, to keep the cold from coming in the windows. Most of the time, there is little sunshine, but when there is, I definitely try to open the drapes and let that sunshine come inside. But on these super cold days we are having, those drapes stay closed much of the time. I have very little motivation to get anything done. It is so much easier to just nap through it all. The extra sadness of a family death over the Christmas holiday, and other issues going on in the family do not make it any easier. I am a mixed media artist, painter, and photographer, but I am struggling just to do anything. Do you deal with winter depression? What are your coping methods? What do you do to just keep motivated to get anything done? Do you live alone, or do you have family and friends around you?

A couple of Mylotters have SADD, including @LouAvul. She and Eva talk about their “happy lamps”, and I think they help at least somewhat. I wish I had known about those lamps when my late grandmother was alive.

The cold winters do not effect me at all.
