Good to be back outside!

I’m not an indoor person. The last few days have been busy with theatrical stuff on top of normal days. On Friday at least I did get out as I had to cycle across town and back, but that was just on roads all the way. Then Saturday morning I was rushing to prepare some food, then went straight to the hall for the performance and by the time the matinee was over it was after 4:30 pm and already starting to go dark. I was starting to lose track of the time already! Then we had the evening performance, which finished about 10:30 pm, then there was the after-show party. It was very late when I got to bed. Sunday morning I woke at the usual sort of time, just after 7 am. I didn’t need to get up so early but I couldn’t go back to sleep so I did a bit of work then it was back to the hall to dismantle everything and pack it all away. Then I went to the shop for a few things and was back home by 1 pm. I was tired; it would have been so easy to just collapse on the sofa and do nothing. But it was a fine, dry day so I thought I’d just pop outside to do one or two things. Then of course I noticed more jobs to do… I ended up spending a few hours out in the garden. And it was so lovely to be out in the fresh air again, with the birds singing and growing things all around. I felt so much better than if I had just stayed inside! It's hard work to juggle the theatrical stuff with housework.Sounds like it is springtime there.

Yes I will be glad to have my Sunday afternoons back for a while! It is just the very start of spring/ end of winter here. Things are starting to grow, but we may yet get some more cold spells. How is it there?

I cannot stay inside all the time. Even during winter, if the sun is shining, I go out for a walk. Soon it's time to take care of the garden.

Yes it is. At the moment it's just ideal for getting things done, the ground has dried out but the weeds have not grown too much yet!

I enjoy being outdoors too. It drives me nuts to be stuck indoors for whatever reason.

I spend too much time inside but I can't seem to get motivated to get out. The house-sitting got us out and about which was good.

I guess it's too hot to spend much time outside at the moment?

It is nice to get outside if the weather is not too bad. I like the picture of the dragon. Is it yours? I have several garden ornaments, most of them are dogs .

I do not like indoors, at all. I've been indoors far too long this winter. Good for you to do the garden, even if it not the best of weather, letting your senses enjoy the earth and all the life it has, is always the best thing to do.

You're so right, I'm sure all the mental health problems people in the UK are reporting these days are at least partly because people tend to spend their days indoors (and exposed to 24-hour bad news which certainly doesn't help either|!)

While I am more of an indoor person, I have to take a walk at least once a day to get some fresh air. Having a dog prompts me to do that anyway, but being cooped up for very long does not sit well with me.

I'm 50/50. I can spend time indoors but not all the time. I do need to get out and do things and especially enjoy fresh air. Your weekend sounds like it went very well.

You had a busy weekend. I'm sorry you spent little time outdoors. I'm glad you got out to the garden yesterday. I hope you can spend more time outdoors today. I admit, I'm mostly an indoor person. It wasn't always that way. As a kid, I spent more time outside than inside.

I used to be an outdoor person; but since I have aged and have mobility issues, I have become an indoor person. I'm glad you are able to get out and do so much. Have a good day.
