India leveled the exciting test series with a near 100 run win today v England. India were clearly warey of England's 'Bazball' style of play and made this test closer than it should have been , a brilliant double - hundred by Yashasvi Jaiswal proving decisive in the first innings of the game as England players failed to score a century. But it wasn't the spinners that did the trick as Ashwin fell one short of his 500th test wicket but the redoubtable Jasprit Bumrah ,a rather unique fast bowler who can get the ball to swing in India to great effect. In American Football you would call him a 'special teams' player. England can still get something from the series but I felt India adapted well after losing the first test and will go on to win the series. I think 'Bazball' is at its best trying to find time between the rain in England and dry flat draw pitches in South East Asian to force a result but not so clever against the worlds best two teams of India and Australia. Even without the absent Virat Kohli (his wife is having a difficult pregnancy) they still won by a 100 plus runs with 2 days to go;. Well played India.
