Roller Skating Rink In the Basement?

I had a funny idea just this morning. The house I am trying to buy has a full cement basement. I have a lot of grandkids and I thought how much fun it would be to let them roller skate in that basement. It would be warm, dry, and they could skate in any kind of weather. Unfortunately, the grandkids who would enjoy it most are two states away from me and I have not seen them in a year. Who here is old enough to remember the old style roller skates that strapped onto your shoes and you could adjust the size with a skate key? Now days they seem to use the boot skates that we had which were only to be used on wood floors of actual skating rinks. My daughter grew up in the age of roller blades. Those things were too expensive for us as they would not be adjustable as the child grows. We never used helmets, kneepads, or elbow pads either back in the day. We survived all the scrapes and bruises back then.
