Stomach Flu

I guess I am lucky to be inside and not catching this stomach stuff. Norovirus is a group of viruses that cause such symptoms as stomach cramping, diarrhea, vomiting, and nausea. Nice that these start suddenly and are severe. Our cat, Colby, loves to sleep in the sink and gets very unhappy if you try to coax him out. I am still trying to get the kids to be sure and wash their hands.
This is a good time to eat light and not rich foods we tend to eat this time of year. Remember the BRAT diet which is Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast. Keeping hydrating is important. I usually drink some Alka-Seltzer.
This bug can appear one to three days after being infected. The vomiting usually doesn't last long but the diarrhea might. If it lasts for more than a couple of days you should see your primary care physician.
Hope you miss out on this and have a great rest of your weekend.

That is a terrible ordeal that Norovirus...never had it.
I wonder why cats like to sleep in the sink.

Cats love sleeping in areas that surround them, it stems from before they were domesticated and lived in the wild. They love to feel protected so that nothing can sneak up on them. Also, it helps keep their body heat in during the winter and keep them cooler during the summer. They also like the height aspect of sleeping in the sink for the reason of keeping them out of the reach of predators, though if you leave an empty box on the floor don't be surprised to find your cat hunkered down in it. I have found my Siamese, Freya, curled up in an empty box (or basket) many times. Anywhere they can hide in the house.

@RebeccasFarm I didn't mean to hold class about cats, but with living with them all my life I have grown used to their habits and idiosyncrasies. Freya has a laser mouse (a plastic mouse with a laser light built in that I bought for her at Wal Mart) that when I reach over to the table I have it on she's at the ready for play time. You never know what to expect. Watch out, they also will sleep in the bathtub when it gets really hot in the house. We've soaked many a cat on hot summer days.
