Digital Nomad Visa: What?!?

This is good news for those who are working online. It cannot be denied that they can work wherever they go. They just need the internet and their laptops.  At present, Japan, South Korea, the US, Australia, Singapore, and all places in the EU are giving visas to stay in their territories as "digital nomads." The visa depends on what country you are going to live in.  Have you heard about this digital nomad visa? Is working remotely an option for you in your job? Image Credit: thedigitalnomad.asia

These countries you mentioned do allow some amount of remote work in India. Some Indians are working remotely for US based companies and some European companies too.

It is also the same thing here in my country. Some of these countries aim to improve their economies. I am not sure what the requirements are to apply for this digital nomad visa, though.

@aninditasen That's great! I missed working with my UK-based NGO. They also let the staff work remotely, too.

@Shavkat My elder son works in a UK based company in India. He doesn't have to go to the office everyday.

Digital nomad visas are permits that allow you to work remotely in a foreign country. If you enter a country as a "tourist" you should not even use your laptop to work, you can with the digital nomad visa. The European countries that give this VISA are Italy, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Croatia and Spain. ALL the others NOT.

That's nice. There are other countries that give digital nomad visa. In Japan, they can only give visa for only 2 months.

You have a point. Unless they were not being checked thoroughly by the people in charge of giving the digital nomad visa,.

I haven't heard of this. If you're not leaving your home, why do you need a Visa?

Some of these have other rather onerous requirements. And there are cost and tax issues. The critical part is to find a country where you can renew a long stay visa for cheap.

You are right. I read from the article that Japan implemented this to boost their economy. Besides, it is also a good opportunity for digital nomads to grab the chance because Yen is weak at present.
