Paul from art class came round today to look at my paintings and to show me what he's been doing too. We did some tidying up and some sweeping ready for when he came. He said he'd be coming round about 11:00am but later he texted me to say he was running a bit late and he should be arriving at 11:15-11:30am. At about 11:15am he texted me again to say he was on his way and he arrived at around 11:30am. I went to open the door for him, but the lock was playing up! When I eventually managed to get the door open I said, sorry, this lock's playing up! I asked him if he wanted a drink of tea, and he said, yeah, if you're making one, so I asked him how he took it he said milk with one sugar so I made it in the green mug my Mum had left out. I told him my Mum said thank you for coming round because it's given us an excuse to tidy up. We did tidy up, honest! I said because the place still looked a mess! We went to sit in the dining room. I showed Paul some of the little animal sketches I did in my sketchbook first then he showed me a painting he did of his sister's cat, but he didn't have that with him, he showed me a picture of it on his phone, then he showed me a picture of the cat itself. It's a long haired blue, it's a house cat, and it's beautiful. Paul said it's a very handsome cat, you can't get many men as handsome as that! Then he showed me what he's been doing at the winter art class. The first three weeks were pencil drawing, week one he did a shell, which I thought was very good, second week he did a caterpillar in coloured pencil and the third week he did a side portrait of a lady. Week four, which was this week, was the first week of oil pastels, and he did a pink ballerina on black pastel paper and it was very good. I told him it was very good. Then I showed him what I've been doing since art class. When I showed him my drawing of the cabbage he said, Oh, no! He said he was glad we didn't have to do the cabbage at art class. I think it's the level of detail involved that he didn't like. He liked my fox but his favourite out of all my paintings was the street scene in Provence like we did in art class. I took two reference pictures of that when we were in art class, so I did the second one at home later. I showed him the board that I use to put the paper on when I'm painting, and I showed him my easel that you really need to use canvases on. I told him about the black canvases that I got from The Works with the luminescent paint, and that I still don't know what to do with it and it's still in the packet! Before he went home I gave him the art magazines and stuff that I'd got for him. He said, thank you very much, that is very kind of you. I also asked him if he could use the fabric storage boxes that I've got for when he moves house, but he said he's got plenty of boxes, so I might have to just take them to the Oxfam shop! I really wanted to get rid of them. I told him my friend might not be able to go to the art course after all because she's been ill, so I might have to get a taxi again! Paul doesn't know yet if he'll be going to the summer art course but he will keep me posted and I said, Don't forget to give me your new address when you move house. He said he will show me the other pictures he does during the art course. When I let him out the lock was working OK thank goodness! He left about 12:20pm so he was here about 50 minutes. My Mum was at the house group that meets at Church on a Friday morning so she missed him! What have you lot been getting up to today? I hope you are all well. Have a nice day.

I am so glad that Paul came to visit you, I know that you like him and you told us you wanted his address. I also like a lot the same painting that Paul liked the street scene in Provence. I am glad he accepted your gifts, shame he did not get the boxes.

@sharonelton - I am really glad that you met Paul and had a good time looking at each others artworks. It is a good idea to bring the boxes to the Oxfam shop, at least those are not wasted.

Today I attempted some cleaning that didn't go as well as I would have liked. I received two sets of mail today--one that I think was yesterday's.

Oh, no. I'm sorry your cleaning didn't go as well as you'd hoped. What went wrong? That's strange. I wonder why that happened?
