Nurse Visit

Okay, she came, I conquered, and then everything went well after that.
That's the brief of what took place.
Normally when someone comes to visit, I meet them halfway and lead them to my apartment so they don't get lost in this place getting here. I let her find her way.
When she walked in, I let her know I'm not senile or stupid and showed her the information for the previous nurse's visit on Wednesday. She went scrambling in her information and found him. Why he didn't show up had nothing to do with her. I need to call him and find out why he didn't come on Wednesday. She even said she wants me to let her know what he said. After that, everything about the visit went great.
I'm no longer prediabetic. My numbers are way low. 5.2. So, I'm very happy. It's a weight off my shoulders. My blood pressure is also good.
We talked a lot. She was here for over an hour. I also showed off my books and gave her a business card as she left. She was impressed.
So, now that's over, my brain is no longer exploding and I'm calm once again. Maybe I can get more than a paragraph done on Wilderness Cry or I'll work the notifications and watch TV for the rest of the night. I need to get myself back in order. I hate confrontations.
I didn't apologize. She understood, and she listened, which was important.
Okay, the rest of my day should be better. Do you handle confrontations well? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

@MarieCoyle Yes, it would. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world.

@just4him
Wouldn't it be nice if it came off as easily as it piled on? Oh, in a perfect world, haha!

I tend to be to good at arguing. So I tend to fuel the fire. Most of the time I try to avoid them, because once that fuse blws..... apparently so does my filter.

@just4him I'm glad you were able to keep calm and talk things out. That's not easy to do, when it comes to confronting someone. I can be the same way and let a lot go, when I should take action. However, as I've aged I've learned to pick my battles.

@kaylachan That's important. This was a battle I needed to pick. Thank you. I'm glad it worked out.

I used to be just the opposite. I inwardly fumed and said nothing all the while seething inside. This time was so different. Nobody treats me the way she treated me. I told her how she affected me with her phone call the night before. At least I kept calm. No filter needed.

That young man is very irresponsible, not even bothering to call you and let you know why he didn't show up. And hopefully, he will be stopped from doing this to another person! I worked with in-home care for about a year. The people needed TLC and of course, they deserved common respect. I loved my job, but couldn't afford to maintain a vehicle on minimum wage. My business was run out of my car, as I traveled from house to house.

@just4him The business cards are a good idea. Maybe you could go to Goodwill and slip a couple between some of the books on the shelves? Seems disingenuous to do that. At the same time, you could say you are just donating bookmarks if you get caught. lol

Looks like I need to back track and see what this is about. You certainly are not senile.

pretty plate. I'm glad you aren't prediabetic. Diabetics is bad. My uncle had it and was always concerned that I would get it. My grandmother also had diabetics.

I try my best not to allow anger to spill over when I disagree with something.

Not very no, I usually ignore things that bother me when I should talk about them. However, if something really gets on my nerves, I will usually be a bit aggressive in my responses because I have let it build up too much. Either that or I just won't interact with the person anymore at all. I think you expressed yourself fairly well and definitely got your point across. Congrats on the health report!
