3/4/24 - Update on My Husband

Yesterday was a very stressful and long day. We arrived at the hospital around 10:30 am. We were told that the surgery would be at 6 pm which I thought was ridiculous. The surgeons would be tired by that time; and it was not right to make the families wait that long.
Around 2 pm we went down to Panera Bread to have some lunch. We sat down, unwrapped our sandwiches; and the nurse came in, telling us that they were getting ready to take my husband into surgery. So we rushed back upstairs. They took him in around 2:30.
Around 7:30 we were directed to go into the family waiting room in another building because my husband's blood pressure had fallen again; and he was transferred to ICU again. We were told that we couldn't see him until after 8 pm. When we went to see him he was on a ventilator, he was in AFIB, he was sedated and his blood pressure was all over the place. At one point it bottomed out at 27/27. As much as I didn't want to leave him (he hadn't regained consciousness as of yet); we left at 9 pm.
After 11 hours in the wheelchair I was in a lot of pain and was extremely worried about my husband. I took a pain pill around 12:30 am; and the next thing I knew it was 4:30. Here it is 5:30; and I haven't heard from the hospital which is good. They said they would try to take the breathing tube out this morning once his blood pressure was stable. They would also take him off sedation.
Oh, and the surgery went well. They gave him a partial hip replacement.
Thank you for your continued support.

I hated to leave the hospital with his blood pressure so unstable.

Somewhere along the line I missed why you were in a wheelchair.

@LindaOHio I'm getting to that point, too, but am determined to be self-powered as long as possible. Of course, last night hasn't helped any.

@LindaOHio - That's good, he surely is still half unconscious and resting. It's good not to be in pain.

That's good to hear that the surgery went well and he has the replacement done. Sorry for what happened after though. That sounds very scary! Hopefully you'll hear some good news soon (if you haven't yet)

Man that's scary stuff there, I know when my husband told
me what all happened to me while he was there to visit or
right after I went in the hosp, he seen me with all kinds of
tubes & machines hooked up to me in I C U, it scared him.
They told him they didn't think I was going to make it & they
had to put me in a induced coma & a revolving bed just to
get me under control, so it's no fun when things go crazy.
I'm glad to hear the surgery went well just keep praying
& things will work like god plans them to work for you.
