The Abbey Ruins Painting - Work in Progress.

This is the painting of the Abbey ruins that I'm doing at the moment. I did the sky first with a mix of cerulean blue and a LOT of white. Then when that was dry I did the black where it's dark shadows in the arch. Then I did the grass with light green, starting off with small strokes far away and making them bigger the further forward you get. I did the darker areas of grass closer to and some flower stems in sap green. Then I did the part of the ruins that is farthest away with a mixture of grey made by mixing black and white, and some cerulean blue. And now I'm leaving it to dry a bit.
But there's a bit of a thing that's held me back a bit. I turned on my phone to text Paul to see how he's getting on with his art class, but before I got chance to, a text came up to say I'd got a voice mail and to phone 121 to access it. It was a lady saying that she was from the Seasons Art Class and that she'd received my letter but nothing else. (I'd sent a £99 deposit for the summer art class, but when I hadn't heard anything after a few weeks I sent a letter asking if they'd received the deposit.) So obviously it looks like the deposit has got lost in the post. I phoned the number that I had for them but it was Jan, and it was Sue who had sent me the voice mail. So I explained what had happened and Jan said she'd email Sue to get in touch with me to arrange a time to speak, and then she said she'd text me Sue's number aswell. So that's what she did.
I'll probably just have to send another cheque. No-one would be able to cash the lost one anyway because it's made out to the Seasons Art Class.
And that's the excitement I've been having today!
What are you lot getting up to today?
I hope you are all well.
Have a nice day.

Hope you get all of that straightened out. I am almost done with my notifications and then I will go watch some TV, do some paperwork, and relax.

@celticeagle I went to the bank yesterday and stopped the old cheque and posted the new one. Everything's good. I've texted Sue to tell her I've done it and to let me know when the new cheque arrives.
Thank you very much. You have a nice weekend too.

Thank you very much. It turns out they're not with Seasons Art Class any more, they're doing an independent art class called The Art Skills Class and it's 12 weeks now with no.mounting week or exhibition, which means it's a bit cheaper. But the deposit is now £125 and I've got to go to the bank tomorrow to cancel the previous deposit cheque before I send the new one! Which needs to be made payable to The Art Skills Class. It's so confusing! I've been texting and receiving texts all day!
I hope you achieved everything you wanted to, and I hope you had a nice day.
Have a great night.

Cerulean? That sounds like Doctor Who sort of word.
The post is terrible now. I never send anything of importance via post, if I can help it. Anything that is important I pay a bit extra to get it signed for.

@Fleura Very true. It is a tracked item, but no guarantee it gets to the intended recipient. Royal Mail fails miserably in many ways and the price of stamps is set to rise again.

I wouldn't bother paying for the 'signed-for' service. It isn't what you imagine it is. In my mind I thought it meant that the addressee had to sign to confirm receipt. What actually happens is that absolutely anyone can scribble any unintelligible mark and they hand it over.

Are you confusing it with silurian?
Yes, I know what you mean. I think a few of my letters to my penpal in Wales have gotten lost in the post too before now.

Thank you very much, I'm glad you think so.
Yes, that's what I'm going to do tomorrow morning. I'm going into the bank to have the cheque stopped before I send off the new one and fingers crossed it arrives at it's destination!

No, she didn't receive the cheque. I'm going to have to cancel the previous cheque and send a new one, this time for £125 made payable to The Art Skills Class because they're no longer with the Seasons Art Class.

I hope the art class gets your second check. I'm taking a break from visiting my husband as my SIL is going back to Phoenix today. Have a good weekend.

I hope it does too! It'd be a right howdyado if they both got lost in the post!
