So, I've almost finished the Abbey ruins painting, despite being held back by texting and receiving texts about the art course and my deposit that seems to be lost in the post.
I painted the walls in this painting in an order that was not regular, because I was painting one brick in the foreground and then leaving it to dry before going on to the next brick, and while it was drying I painted something somewhere else on the painting. All the bricks have tints of blue or pink in them so I was constantly mixing shades of blue and pink!
I painted in the bottom part of the middle brick wall in a darker blue, then went round individual bricks with cerulean blue paint and a small size 00000 brush.
I painted in the bushes above that brickwork with first sap green, then light green, then light green mixed with white so that it gradually went lighter as it went up.
I added leaves at the bottom of the painting on both sides with sap green. I painted in a few more bricks and I added a blue area inside the arch where it's in shadow. I painted more bushes and trees further up. I added some branches in when that was dry.
The last part of brickwork that I pained were the lighter bluey tinted ones middle right. Then I went round some of the edges of the bricks with cerulean blue again.
Lastly I put in the little flowers here and there and then I thought it was finished and started packing some things away, emptying my water jars and throwing away the disposable palette and some tubes of paint that were used up. It wasn't until I'd done all that that I noticed that there was a space at the top that had too much sky and needed more of the foliage. I'll have to do that next week before I do whatever I'm going to be doing next week, because I have no idea yet!
So, that's what I've been doing today.
I hope you are all well.
Have a great night.

Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it.
Yes, it did take a lot of time and patience. And I was a bit held back by the situation with the deposit that was lost in the post and everything, so I think I did well. I hope to be able to concentrate more this Thursday.
