Good Afternoon

It's shaping up to be a nice day. The sun is shining, and it's already in the 50s out there. I just opened and closed the patio door. It's pleasant out there.
This morning I tried unsuccessfully to get into my domain. I learned though that everything is changing over to another site in a couple of days. I also learned it's a verified domain. So, it might mean it will go live when everything changes over. In the meantime, I can work on it.
I also worked on two manuscripts: Wilderness Cry and New Horizons - Predators and Terrorists. It's been a while since I worked on that one. It's a finished novel. I pulled a book from my resource bookcase called Hooked. Since the Writer's Guild meeting last week focusing on hooks, I've been looking at my first paragraph and pages to see how I could make them better. It's too soon to do that with Wilderness Cry, but not too soon to have a hook that will get a person reading and want to keep reading. However, with the finished novel, I can do that much better as I know what the book is about. I moved a couple of pages to a new file and cut them from the manuscript. It even sounds better and cleaner without all the extra stuff in it. I won't delete it completely, as I can add it back in as backstory where needed.
I also have the majority of my steps. I still have about 2000 to go and the foot cycle. So, things are moving along. I hope your day is going as planned. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

I got my steps earlier. I just made a taco salad with some leftover chili. It was really quite good.

Everything keeps changing. I am a book snob I think. If the story doesn't hook me in the first few pages I'm gone.

@just4him .......Does sound rather weird. I don't think I've ever seen anything written that way. It's either first or third person.

@celticeagle The funny thing about it is that last month we had examples of first, second, and third person at Writer's Guild. We even had a small workshop to work in second person. When I started reading this book, I didn't recognize it at first, only that it was hard to read and then realized what person she wrote the book in.

Many people are. The book I'm currently reading is good. At least the dialogue portion of the book. It's everything else that's driving me crazy as it's written in second person. The first and third person are easy, but the second is a nightmare.

So far so good. It's not even payday and I'm closer than ever to reaching payout. This month hasn't been to busy, even though I did have to run a quick errond yesterday. Worked out fine. Chilly is on the couch with George, basking in the sun. And, I'm sitting in my office working on my Dell, which surprisingly is working quite well, knock on wood.

@just4him I use laptops. Or in the case of Windows 2 in 1's. However, I'm perficant enough that going without touchscreen isn't that big a deal.

Glad the weather is nice there. That's good to learn about the website. Sounds like a productive day so far there.
I did some dishes, that's about it for my productivity.

@just4him That's good to hear it was.
And some are done, not all...and now there are dishes from tonight's dinner. UGH!

You've got a warm day too. I'm sure you're making headway as you get things stored away for the work to get done.

I love when a book grabs you right from the get-go.

Yesterday I worked on my mother's diamond painting. I also found out how to get the power bill in my name. It's more complex than I thought. The power bill is still in my uncle's name and now that I own the house we need to change the bill in my name.

It will be in the 60s this week. Great for March. I hope you can get into your domain. I think a hook is the most difficult part of writing a book. Good luck. Have a good day.
