The Sun and the Moon Are Getting Together Again

On Monday, April 8th the moon will be positioned so that the sun will be blocked. This will plunge certain areas into darkness for a few minutes in the afternoon. It will begin to be viewed first in Mexico and then move on across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. At that point, it will head over the Atlantic. This occurrence may interrupt cell service where calls will not go out or be dropped because of the strain on some cell towers. There will also be heavy traffic in some areas due to the amount of people wanting to experience this spectacle. Officials in many states are urging residents to stock up on food, gas, medical prescriptions, or other important items in the days leading up to the eclipse if needed because traffic may overwhelm local roads in some areas. There might also be a high call volume to 911 and students could be stranded on buses stuck in heavy traffic. The last time we had an eclipse was August of 2017 and the next one will be August 23, 2044. The picture is courtesy of TechRepublic.com.

I'd better see this one because I won't be around in 2044. Have a good week.
