Easter Dinner

If you celebrate Easter, what do you serve for Easter Dinner? Do you have a family gathering? If so, do you cook the entire meal, or do guests bring their own dishes to contribute to the meal? In my family growing up and later on, we always met together at my aunt's and uncle's house. They made ham and mashed potatoes... The rest of the families brought their own specialties. My mom's specialty was the baked beans. But she also liked trying new recipes in addition. She liked trying out different Jello salad recipes, especially. I would usually bake a chocolate cake with chocolate icing (box mixes) once I was old enough to do so. One year I made a fruit pizza which is basically a pizza pan size sugar cookie, cream cheese, and lots of cut fresh fruits as toppings. I used frozen fruits too. But if you do that, you need to let the fruit thaw completely and strain out the juice. We had a large enough family to bring in lots of good foods. We always had green bean casserole, mom's baked beans, dinner rolls, which my aunt always provided and caught on fire one year. LOL There were always the regular foods and lots of new things each year. My aunt always baked the dinner rolls in the oven in a paper grocery bag. The year she caught them on fire, she got busy and distracted so she forgot to watch them. I don't remember why she heated them up in the paper bag. Do any of you do this? I do not get to participate in big family get togethers for any of the holidays anymore. I miss it.

We are taking a plate of food to my husband today that his cousin made. At least I won't be alone today. Maybe the paper bag keeps the rolls from drying out? Have a Happy Easter.
