Day 73 – The Tabernacle
Exodus 25:1 Then JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering. From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you will take My offering. 3 This is the offering which you will take from them: gold, silver, and bronze; 4 blue, purple, and scarlet thread, fine linen, and goats’ hair; 5 ram skins dyed red, badger skins, and acacia wood; 6 oil for the light, and spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense; 7 onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod and in the breastplate. 8 Let them make Me a sanctuary, so that I may dwell among them. 9 According to everything I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of its furnishings, you will make it.
10 “They will make an ark of acacia wood; three feet nine inches in length, two feet three inches in breadth, and two feet three inches in height. 11 You will overlay it with pure gold, inside and out you will overlay it, and will make on it a molding of gold all around. 12 You will cast four rings of gold for it and put them in its four corners; two rings will be on one side, and two rings on the other side. 13 You will make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. 14 You will put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, that the ark may be carried by them. 15 The poles will be in the rings of the ark; they will not be taken from it. 16 You will put into the ark the Testimony which I will give you. 17 You will make a mercy seat of pure gold; three feet nine inches will be its length and two feet three inches its width. 18 You will make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work you will make them at the two ends of the mercy seat. 19 Make one cherub at one end, and the other cherub at the other end; you will make the cherubim at the two ends of it of one piece with the mercy seat. 20 The cherubim will stretch out their wings above, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and they will face one another; the faces of the cherubim will be toward the mercy seat. 21 You will put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark, you will put the Testimony that I will give you. 22 There I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel.
23 “You will also make a table of acacia wood; three feet will be its length, one foot six inches its width, and two feet three inches its height. 24 You will overlay it with pure gold and make a molding of gold all around. 25 You will make for it a frame of a handbreadth all around, and you will make a gold molding for the frame all around. 26 You shall make for it four rings of gold and put the rings on the four corners that are at its four legs. 27 The rings will be close to the frame, as holders for the poles to bear the table. 28 You will make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be carried with them. 29 You will make its dishes, its pans, its pitchers, and its bowls for pouring. You will make them of pure gold. 30 You will set the showbread on the table before Me always.
31 “You will also make a lampstand of pure gold; the lampstand will be of hammered work. Its shaft, its branches, its bowls, its ornamental knobs, and flowers will be of one piece. 32 Six branches will come out of its sides: three branches of the lampstand out of one side, and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side. 33 Three bowls will be made like almond blossoms on one branch, with an ornamental knob and a flower, and three bowls made like almond blossoms on the other branch, with an ornamental knob and a flower—and so for the six branches that come out of the lampstand. 34 On the lampstand itself four bowls will be made like almond blossoms, each with its ornamental knob and flower. 35 There will be a knob under the first two branches of the same, a knob under the second two branches of the same, and a knob under the third two branches of the same, according to the six branches that extend from the lampstand. 36 Their knobs and their branches will be of one piece; it will be one hammered piece of pure gold. 37 You will make seven lamps for it, and they will arrange its lamps so that they give light in front of it. 38 Its wick-trimmers and their trays will be of pure gold. 39 It will be made of ninety-one pounds (troy) of pure gold, with all these utensils. 40 See to it you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
God’s name:
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
God’s character:
Architect
Builder
Every building has an architect and builder, someone who draws up the plans so the construction workers can build it according to the specifications.
JEHOVAH gave Moses the plans for the tabernacle. He gave Moses precise specifications for each piece of furniture in the tabernacle. He started with the Holy of holies.
JEHOVAH told Moses to make each piece of furniture out of acacia wood and overlay them with pure gold with a talent of gold, or ninety-one pounds troy in the candlestick alone.
Acacia wood is a dense wood, resistant to pests and moisture. It wouldn’t rot or be subject to fungus or bugs.
You are JEHOVAH’S workmanship, His tabernacle if you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (NKJV)
You are JEHOVAH’S tabernacle. As JEHOVAH promised Moses He would meet with him at the mercy seat, He lives in you and meets with you when you spend time with Him in His Word.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (NKJV)
Ephesians 2:19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. (NKJV)
Everything JEHOVAH told Moses to put into the Holy of Holies, He put in you. You are His sanctuary. He meets daily with you. His light dwells in you.
Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
JEHOVAH told Moses to make a table for the showbread. The priests ate the showbread, not the common people. JEHOVAH’S showbread is His Word. You eat it every day when you read and study His Word.
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. (NKJV)
You are the Ark of the Covenant. His Testimony lives in you when you eat His Word daily.
Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, strength, the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God, day, and night, has been cast down. 11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they did not love their lives to the death.
You are JEHOVAH’S sanctuary, His tabernacle. You agreed to allow Him to work in your life, to build up your faith, to make you a priest to worship Him with glory and praise when you meet with Him daily. His light is in you. His testimony is in you. You are His workmanship for glory and praise.
Have you committed your life to JEHOVAH? Does His light shine through your life? Do you have His testimony living in you?
Let’s pray: Father, let Your Testimony live in me as a light to everyone who sees me. Let me feed upon Your Word daily, so that everyone who sees me, sees You in me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
