Heart Attack Self Care (Do You Know If This Works?)

I read earlier that if you are having a heart attack and are alone with no one to give you critical care, you should force yourself to cough (and breathe deeply) to get oxygen until help arrives or you can get to a hospital. Does anyone know if this actually works? I ask because there's so much questionable advice floating around the Internet these days. Sometimes it's hard to know what's viable and what's nonsense.

I think I have heard this as well, but I have never had a heart attack or witnessed one. I know you chew one regular aspirin for a stroke.

I couldn't say if it actually works, but I know I've heard and remember this. Every time I've felt some weird heart thing (even though it was probably upcoming gas or something ), I do intentionally cough - just in case .

I'd talk to a cardiologist just to find out for sure. @AmbiePam

Eat healthy, relax more, avoid fatty food because they could block the arteries, those are my tips.
