Love Our Binx

Back in October, this cat showed up in our yard. We checked around to see if anyone had lost one, checked the neighborhood watch pages and no one claimed her. She was missing a lot of her hair. She is as sweet as any cat could be, so we decided to keep her. We named her Binx. She is the best cat we have ever had and currently, we have five (counting her). I took her to the vet and found out she has a form of anxiety and panic attacks and pulls out her own hair. There is no way to know, but we think she may have suffered something traumatic. Keeping her healthy is going to be high maintenance, but she is worth it. She is doing great and still just as sweet. We love our Binx and feel blessed that she found her way into our yard.

Maybe in a stable environment she won't feel the need to pull out her hair. She looks a sweet little cat.

I hope so. We love her and have already tried to make changes around the house that accommodate her.

Aw, what a cutie! We have a number of neighborhood strays. My personal favorite is Callie the Calico, who shows up for her meals and is getting used to me. There’s another one, Silver, who will let me pet him.

My husband shakes his head and rolls his eyes when I start talking about animals. He knows I am gonna try to take care of every stray that comes around.

@gnatsmom — one good thing about being single…I don’t have to ask permission!

@FourWalls I have to admit, I am blessed. My husband may roll his eyes, but he lets me get whatever animals that I want and helps me take care of them. He calls them names, but he still cares for them. I love to capture pictures of him playing with the animals. Then he rolls his eyes at me when I post the pictures on facebook.

She may have been abused in a former home and ran away. I'm sure she will improve with some love and time!!

that was one of my thoughts. She flips out if she is in and enclosed place and can't get out. Once she is out, though, she calms down. When I took her to the vet, she could not handle being in the pet carrier. But if I let her wander in the car and sit in the passenger's lap, she is fine.

@gnatsmom Sounds like that could very well be the answer! Or just because she was wild, being enclosed would be pretty scary!
