I dont mind the IPL but the scores are getting higher every
year with the batsmen having too much of an advantage these days. The new Indian grounds are round and not very big and the ropes then pulled in to keep the fans away from the players.for security reasons. Some boundaries are barely 50 meters now.
This year we have seen the highest first hit at 282 runs off the 20 overs and the highest run chase of 267 off the 20 overs. We have already seen 16 sides hit 200 first up and 8 teams get 200 in the chase, four of them winning the chase. Last season it was 20 first hits of 200 plus and 11 second hits with 5 of those successful chases .
A recent rule change allowed a strategic substitution when one position could be subbed in for another during the innings, like an extra batsmen could be subbed in for a bowler or vice versa. This has definitely boosted totals. Rajastan Royals seem to have mastered everything and well clear at the top of the league with an impressive 8 wins out of 9, unusual for a franchise competition for one team to be so far clear.

It seems that you have been observing the evolving dynamics of cricket, particularly in the IPL, where high scores are becoming more common, due to factors like smaller grounds, and closer boundary ropes for security reasons. This year, the record for runs are notably high with the introduction of strategic substitutions also playing a role in boosting scores. The Rajasthan Royals are excelling under these conditions dominating the league unusually with 8 wins in 9 games . It is clear that these changes are having a significant impact on how the game is played.
