Spencer Edwards has a beautiful wife, two perfect children, and a sinister secret locked in his basement. When Andi Edwards discovers her husband isn't where he's supposed to be and isn't answering her calls or texts, a flurry of scenarios races through her mind: Is he hurt? Is he cheating? Is he dead? The truth, she soon finds out, is so much worse than she could've imagined. As she struggles to make sense of her new and chilling reality, she must decide whether to stand by the man she loves and help protect him, or walk away and let him pay for his sins. With time running out, the secret in the basement becomes more dangerous, and the spine-chilling truth comes clear: if she makes the wrong decision, she stands to lose much more than her marriage. When their best laid plans come back to haunt them, what will Spencer and Andi be willing to sacrifice to survive? ~~~~ Kiersten Modglin has written another domestic thriller that keeps the reader enthralled. It's a short read, short chapters, and I read it in two sittings (others would read it in one). Andi Edwards finds out her husband, Spencer, is keeping a secret in the basement. When she finds out what, it becomes her secret too. They work together to fix the problem, though her husband insists she doesn't go down in the basement. Because in the basement she could learn the truth. Filled with lies and deceit, this happily married husband and wife are not what they seem. In the middle of this story of intrigue is a lesson to be learned about trust. Not just spouses, but girls trusting boys, women trusting men. I can't say more without giving away the story. Believe me, you'll want to read this one.
