Day 123 – Restitution Numbers 5:5 Then JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 6 “Speak to the children of Israel, ‘When a man or woman commits any sin that men commit in unfaithfulness against JEHOVAH, and that person is guilty, 7 then he will confess the sin which he committed. He will make restitution for his trespass in full, plus one-fifth of it, and give it to the one he wronged. 8 If the man has no relative to whom restitution may be made for the wrong, the restitution for the wrong must go to JEHOVAH for the priest, in addition to the ram of the atonement with which atonement is made for him. 9 Every offering of the holy things of the children of Israel, which they bring to the priest, will be his. 10 And every man’s holy things will be his; whatever any man gives the priest will be his.’” God’s names: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Yeshuwa – Jesus God’s character: Instructor, Teacher Judge People sue others every day, taking them to court for restitution for what someone did to them. The judge decides what the restitution will be of the person who wronged the person who sued him. JEHOVAH judged the person who committed the trespass. Not only did the person wrong another person, but he also committed his trespass to JEHOVAH. The person who committed the trespass needed to pay the restitution in full plus one-fifth more. If there was no one to pay restitution to, he paid the restitution to the priest along with his atonement offering. When he did, both the priest and the person bringing the atonement offering could eat the ram brought to the priest. People don’t realize when they commit crimes, they commit their crime against two people, the person they wronged, and JEHOVAH. When you sin, you need to confess your sin first to JEHOVAH, and then take your restitution to the person you wronged. A simple, “I’m sorry” isn’t sufficient. Anyone can say they’re sorry, and not mean it. When you bring restitution for what you did, you honor JEHOVAH and the person you wronged. Then JEHOVAH and the person you wronged will accept your restitution and you can enjoy fellowship with the person you wronged once again. Just because you call yourself a Christian doesn’t make you exempt from making restitution when you do something against a fellow Christian or non-Christian. You must still atone for the wrong you committed. When you do, JEHOVAH will accept your offering and restore you to perfect fellowship with Him. You know what you did to another person. Confess your wrong and go to the person you wronged and make it right between you. In His Sermon on the Mount, Yeshuwa told the people what they needed to do when they wronged another person. Matthew 5:21 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You will not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ 22 I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause will be in danger of judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ will be in danger from the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar, and remember there that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. 25 Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. 26 Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny.” JEHOVAH expects you to confess your sin and make restitution for your sin to the person you wronged. When you do, you will receive the blessing of continued fellowship with JEHOVAH and the person you wronged. Let’s pray: Father, every day, I sin against You with my words and actions against those I call friends and even against those I don’t know. Help me go to the person I wronged and seek his forgiveness so I will receive Your forgiveness and know Your blessings on my life once again. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. It's so important to own our mistakes and try to make things right. Saying sorry without actually meaning it is not effective.

@just4him Thank you. Monday has been a low day. I was feeling under weather and couldn't be productive. It's 10:30 PM here. I have been sleeping a lot whole day. Though in bed, I am not getting the sleep.

If we committed a sin years ago, and still have not made restitution because we were not Christians then, we should not carry this burden any further in our life, but make that restitution now too. Our whole life and its doings are part of this way of doing things, and of making restitution when we sin.
