Day 124 – Reconciliation
Numbers 5:11 JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 12 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘If any man’s wife goes astray and behaves unfaithfully toward him, 13 and a man lies with her carnally, and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband, and it is concealed that she has defiled herself, and there was no witness against her, nor was she caught— 14 if the spirit of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes jealous of his wife, who has defiled herself; or if the spirit of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes jealous of his wife, although she has not defiled herself— 15 then the man will bring his wife to the priest. He will bring the offering required for her, one-tenth of an EPHAH of barley meal; he will pour no oil on it and put no frankincense on it, because it is a grain offering of jealousy, an offering for remembering, for bringing iniquity to remembrance.
16 ‘The priest will bring her near and set her before JEHOVAH. 17 The priest will take holy water in an earthen vessel and take some of the dust on the floor of the tabernacle and put it into the water. 18 Then the priest will stand the woman before JEHOVAH, uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering for remembering in her hands, which is the grain offering of jealousy. The priest will have in his hand the bitter water that brings a curse. 19 The priest will put her under oath, and say to the woman, “If no man has lain with you, and if you have not gone astray to uncleanness while under your husband’s authority, be free from this bitter water that brings a curse. 20 But if you have gone astray while under your husband’s authority, and if you have defiled yourself and some man other than your husband has lain with you” — 21 then the priest will put the woman under the oath of the curse, and he will say to the woman—“JEHOVAH make you a curse and an oath among your people, when JEHOVAH makes your thigh rot and your belly swell; 22 and may this water that causes the curse go into your stomach, and make your belly swell and your thigh rot.”
Then the woman will say, “Amen, so be it.”
23 ‘Then the priest will write these curses in a book, and he will scrape them off into the bitter water. 24 He will make the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse, and the water that brings the curse will enter her to become bitter.
25 ‘Then the priest will take the grain offering of jealousy from the woman’s hand, will waive the offering before JEHOVAH, and bring it to the altar; 26 and the priest will take a handful of the offering, as its memorial portion, burn it on the altar, and afterward make the woman drink the water.
27 ‘When he has made her drink the water, then it will be, if she has defiled herself and behaved unfaithfully toward her husband, that the water that brings a curse will enter her and become bitter, and her belly will swell, her thigh will rot, and the woman will become a curse among her people. 28 If the woman has not defiled herself, and is clean, then she will be free and may conceive children.
29 ‘This is the law of jealousy, when a wife, while under her husband’s authority, goes astray and defiles herself, 30 or when the spirit of jealousy comes upon a man, and he becomes jealous of his wife; then he will stand the woman before JEHOVAH, and the priest will execute this law upon her. 31 Then the man will be free from iniquity, but the woman will bear her guilt.’”
God’s names:
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Yeshuwa – Jesus
Elohiym – Mighty God
Pneuma – Spirit, breath
Elohiym of Mishpat – God of Justice
God’s character:
Judge
Today, men and women don’t want to get married because unfaithfulness runs high between both men and women. When they learn of their unfaithfulness, they simply leave the person. In many cases the woman has children to raise by herself. If they do get married and either of them finds their spouse unfaithful an ugly divorce takes place, and the woman is left to raise the children herself with the man having some custody over the children and required to pay child support.
JEHOVAH told Moses to tell the priest what to do if the husband came to the priest with the spirit of jealousy on him because he suspected his wife was unfaithful, even though there were no witnesses to her unfaithfulness. He told the priest to perform the jealousy curse on the woman. He would take dust from the floor of the tabernacle, making it bitter and cause the woman to drink it. If the water caused her belly to swell and her thigh to rot, then it proved she was unfaithful to her husband. If it had no effect on her, then she wasn’t guilty and she could live with her husband and conceive children.
Many Christians live according to the ways of the world, living with their friends, but refusing to marry them. It’s called, ‘friends with benefits.’ When they find unfaithfulness with their friend, they simply do as the rest of the world, and leave to find another person they can live with. The church has turned a blind eye to how they live. When marriage is involved, divorce takes place. Divorce is as high among Christians as it is among non-Christians.
Satan’s goal is to come against Christians in any manner he can, and if it means the destruction of the home, so much the better.
The Pharisees came to Yeshuwa regarding unfaithfulness and divorce. Yeshuwa told them why Moses allowed divorce among His people.
Matthew 19:3 The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and said to Him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?”
4 He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let not man separate.”
7 They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?”
8 He said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. 9 I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”
No one considers adultery until they play the God card and take their spouse to court to divorce them. Only then will they try to prove how faithful they are while their spouse was unfaithful.
What did JEHOVAH tell His people about divorce?
Malachi 2:10 Have we not all one Father? Has not one Elohiym created us? Why do we deal treacherously with one another by profaning the covenant of the fathers?
11 Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem, For Judah profaned JEHOVAH’S holy institution which He loves: He has married the daughter of a foreign elohiym.
12 May JEHOVAH cut off from the tents of Jacob the man who does this, being awake and aware, yet who brings an offering to JEHOVAH of hosts!
13 This is the second thing you do: You cover the altar of JEHOVAH with tears, with weeping and crying; so, He does not regard the offering anymore, nor receive it with goodwill from your hands.
14 Yet you say, “For what reason?” Because JEHOVAH has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, with whom you have dealt treacherously; yet she is your companion and your wife by covenant.
15 Did He not make them one, having a remnant of the Pneuma? And why one? He seeks godly offspring. Therefore, take heed to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously with the wife of his youth.
16 “For JEHOVAH Elohiym of Israel says that He hates divorce, for it covers one’s garment with violence,” says JEHOVAH of hosts. “Therefore, take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”
17 You have wearied JEHOVAH with your words; yet you say, “In what way have we wearied Him?” In that you say, “Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of JEHOVAH, and He delights in them,” Or, “Where is the Elohiym of Mishpat?”
JEHOVAH hates divorce. He wants to see reconciliation and restoration between spouses. Yes, there is a time and place for divorce, but He looks favorably on the couple who work through their differences and their unfaithfulness to help make their marriage stronger.
Don’t let Satan destroy your marriage and the lives of your children. Give your marriage to Elohiym and watch Him work everything out to His glory.
Let’s pray: Father, restore love and faithfulness in my life. Let me see Your hand in my marriage and give You praise for Your faithfulness to me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

So many young people today have children, buy houses and then they might think about getting married. I don't care for that trend. Have a blessed day.

I don't either, but I have no say about how people live. My children aren't married. I have six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. My daughter was married, after she had her children, and is now divorced.
Have a blessed day too. Thank you.

Yes, God wants the union between a man and a woman to last forever, as he considers the two fleshes to have become one.
That sounded like a severe sentence to be carried out, but with God behind the idea, the sin of the woman, if she had sinned, or not, would have been made clear by this test.
