Day 127 – Offering
Numbers 7:1 Now it happened, when Moses had finished setting up the tabernacle, he anointed it and consecrated it and all its furnishings, and the altar and all its utensils; so, he anointed them and consecrated them.
2 Then the leaders of Israel, the heads of their fathers’ houses, who were the leaders of the tribes and over those who were numbered, made an offering.
3 And they brought their offering before JEHOVAH, six covered carts and twelve oxen, a cart for every two of the leaders, and for each one an ox; and they presented them before the tabernacle.
4 Then JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 5 “Accept these from them, that they may be used in doing the work of the tabernacle of meeting; and you will give them to the Levites, to every man according to his service.”
6 Moses took the carts and the oxen and gave them to the Levites. 7 Two carts and four oxen he gave to the sons of Gershon, according to their service; 8 and four carts and eight oxen he gave to the sons of Merari, according to their service, under the authority of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest. 9 But to the sons of Kohath he gave none, because theirs was the service of the holy things, which they carried on their shoulders.
10 Now the leaders offered the dedication offering for the altar when it was anointed; the leaders offered their offering before the altar.
11 For JEHOVAH said to Moses, “They will offer their offering, one leader each day, for the dedication of the altar.”
84 This was the dedication offering for the altar from the leaders of Israel, when it was anointed: twelve silver platters, twelve silver bowls, and twelve gold pans. 85 Each silver platter weighed one hundred and thirty shekels and each bowl seventy shekels. All the silver of the vessels weighed two thousand four hundred shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary.
86 The twelve gold pans full of incense weighed ten shekels apiece, according to the shekel of the sanctuary; all the gold of the pans weighed one hundred and twenty shekels.
87 All the oxen for the burnt offering were twelve young bulls, the rams twelve, the male lambs in their first year twelve, with their grain offering, and the kids of the goats as a sin offering twelve.
88 All the oxen for the sacrifice of peace offerings were twenty-four bulls, the rams sixty, the male goats sixty, and the lambs in their first year sixty. This was the dedication offering for the altar after it was anointed.
89 When Moses went into the tabernacle of meeting to speak with Him, he heard the voice of One speaking to him from above the mercy seat on the ark of the Testimony, from between the two cherubim; thus, He spoke to him.
God’s names:
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Yeshuwa – Jesus
Christos – Anointed One
Kurios of the therismos – Supreme Authority, God of the harvest
God’s character:
Holy
People give offerings or gifts for special occasions: weddings, births, birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, to name a few. When they do they bring their best to the person being honored.
The heads of the tribes of the children of Israel brought offerings to JEHOVAH for the dedication of the tabernacle. Each prince of the tribe brought the same offerings to Him for the work in the tabernacle.
Christians bring their offerings to JEHOVAH for the work of the church. However, their offering isn’t always their best.
The children of Israel didn’t bring their offerings to Moses, but to JEHOVAH. Moses was only JEHOVAH’S representative.
Many Christians hold back their offering because Satan convinced them they give their offerings to the minister of the church, telling them the minister doesn’t need their offerings and to only give a small portion as their offering.
You do not give your offering to the minister; you give it to JEHOVAH. When you give your offering, you give JEHOVAH the ability for His servants to do the work He appointed for them in the church.
As JEHOVAH appointed specific duties to the Levites for the work in the tabernacle, so He appointed ministers in His body to do the work. Work cannot get done if you don’t present your best offering.
What is the work of the church other than the maintenance and upkeep of the building? It is to send out laborers into the vineyard so the world will know Yeshuwa Christos as Savior and Lord.
Matthew 9:37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore, pray the Kurios of the therismos to send out laborers into His harvest.”
Does your church have a missionary program? Do they have a church planting program? They do JEHOVAH’S work. Any work done in the church to further the good news of Yeshuwa Christos, is His work. You are to give your best for JEHOVAH’S work. Don’t let Satan cause you to withhold your best offering. When you give your best, JEHOVAH will bless you with His best for you.
Let’s pray: Father, forgive me for not giving my best offering to You for the work of the gospel. Help me give my best and not withhold my offering to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Our religion believes that the best offering to God is doing all your duties and responsibilities in this life with sincerity, love and full dedication. We have to give our best to any work that we choose to do or even otherwise if the work chose us

This made me reflect if I am also giving my best in everything that I do. Sometimes I feel that I do give my best but there are also times I think I am not exerting any effort to give my best in what I do.

In a way, all that we do, we do for God, and in service to God, and so we should always strive to do our best in serving God, in all that we do.
