Is age really just a number? What do you think.? There are some people who are still active in their nineties and even 100. Deborah Szekely is 102 and works 3 days a week at the spa she founded in 1940. She also walks a mile a day ( steps). When will you be ready for your rocking chair.? Read about her lifestyle in the link. Pixabay image.

Wow, that woman looks fantastic - can't believe she's 102 there! I almost have to think that people like that had a healthy lifestyle and attitude most of their lives to get to that point. I mean, it's never too late to begin living healthier and happier, but it helps to have started these habits from early on. My age is just a number, yah, and it's either a good thing or a bad thing that I was never good at math .

@Kandae11 I do believe in those main factors . . . the only thing is I don't know that I could do her diet . But definitely it's doing what's good for you - in feeling good and maintaining that - inside and out.

I was never good at maths either. [em]lol[/em. There are some main factors which help to keep people young and she mentioned a few like, exercise, her kind of diet and having people you care about and who care about you around you. If possible, try not to be lonely.

I do believe that age really is just a number, and the mind plays a huge role in how long a person lives.

IF you are lucky enough to be healthy, age is "more or less" just a number. I know that I am lucky, I am perfectly healthy, I am 73, but I am not the same as I was 30 years ago.

When we are healthy we can continue to live productive lives but there will be physical changes of course.

I agree. It's a number. I don't feel any different at 70 than I did at 20. Oh, I'm slower, but the brain is still active, and I can walk, swim, and use the foot cycle regularly. I'm still writing as much now as I did when I was younger. The brain is good. I will keep doing what I'm doing until God calls me home.

@Kandae11 Thank you. I've been getting more sleep lately. It's been five instead of three.

I know you are a good example of what can be achieved. Imagine getting up at 3 in the morning and putting together that lengthy and informative bible study.. amazing!. So many other examples too.

I have heard many persons tell me that I look younger than my current age of 62 years of age. My concern of getting older is that if I do not exercise for at least a portion of my day, I will age quickly and not be able to live a healthy life. I have read that keeping active is the key to living.

@Kandae11 I have read in magazine articles that being happy keeps me alive and younger longer than being upset.

That, as well as getting enough rest and eating healthy. Good that you look younger than 62 - you must be doing something right. There is a television host l have been watching for the past 20 years - and he looks almost the same as when l first saw him. I understood from watching his programs that he is very careful about what he eats. He is also a football coach.

Age is definitely just a number. You only physically age when you let yourself the age going up through time. It just really depends on how you take care and work onto yourself. Some feel old, yet look young. Some look young, yet feel old. So, technically age is definitely just a number. That quote, however, should not be used as an excuse to commit pedophilia.

It depends on who you are. Some seem to be able to reach beyond it and are productive well into their later years.

It depends on the person, I do think age is just a number and there are days when I feel really good that I forget how old I am, Some people might say I am too inactive but it is my work online and my writing and blogging the make me happy and that I enjoy so much,

I think people are still more active in their later years than they used to be. My uncle is 92, still drives, and goes to the gym 2 or 3 times a week. My aunt (his wife) is only a few years younger, she still drives and walks every day and is very active. They have a big family so there's always something going on. I guess it all depends on how your physical health is and how much you can do if you aren't filled with aches and pains.

Age can be just a number for those who stay active and engaged, like Deborah Szekely at 102. It's about mindset and lifestyle more than a specific number. So all I can say is, keep rockin'

Yes it can just be a number. But physical looks can decide but the internal organs couldn't lie. Bones, tissues they will age.

In most cases our lifestyle can determine how fast our bones and tissues age. What we eat and what we do not eat play a big part.
