Running labs, taking pills

I got in to see my doctor, which I greatly prefer to seeing some one who does not know my history. We discussed my symptoms. My blood pressure had shot up really high for me. I do not have a fever, but she said I felt clammy to her. I get chills. Sometimes my head hurts so badly I do not eat. There were no rashes from the tick bites. She used a special magnifier to look at the ticks and try to identify them.I had saved them in a medicine bottle and they were two different species. We also discussed the approaches I had used to try to feel better. Also what other signs and symptoms I had of infection. She sent out a prescription for an antibiotic and I will pick it up tomorrow. Of course I will go back if I do not get any better or if the lab tests indicate something else is wrong. Meanwhile, Bob and I are going to bed early. Goodnight to you from Kansas.

I hope the antibiotics help. I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. How are Bob's treatments going? Try and have a good day.

His treatment today started late and ran long. They have a new person needing this therapy and Bob enjoyed visiting with her. She is young, but has had many of the same issues as Bob. She had cancer, of course it was not prostate, but also got abcesses from the radiation, had a stroke, and a bunch of other things. He did not mind that they got her started in her dive first.

@GardenGerty It probably helps for Bob to share his experiences with someone else. I hope the therapy helps.

There are so many illnesses that can be caused from tick bites. I went down the rabbit hole reading about them last night. Generally they give this particular anti-biotic, doxicylene to treat them all.

@GardenGerty It's sad they generate so many illnesses.

I think they are going to be very helpful. I already have the fatigue from fibro myalgia, and the body aches. I did develop some new ones yesterday that are more flu like and indicative of tick bites.

I got up at 4 with a bad headache again today (day 5) but was mostly able to get it under control. It seemed to improve even more after the antibiotics started.

Oh, it sounds as if you must feel just miserable. I hope you get some good news rather than bad soon. So sorry you feel so badly.

If you look at it as my headache is cause from a tick bite and not from a stroke, this might be good news. The description of the sudden headaches and blood pressure sound much like a stroke. I sure do not want one of those.

@GardenGerty Oh, for sure. But honestly, Lyme disease isn’t very easy to get over, either. My friend Tammy had fought it for two years.

I wonder what kind of tick that is. Is it a tick that can be usually found in domestic pets?

There are lots of different ticks, and many of them will get on your pets. She said mine was a Lone Star tick and a dog tick.

@GardenGerty That's a fancy name to be given to a tick.

@GardenGerty I'm trying to drink more water here. It is looking like a very hot summer in my area.

Good night...I am not sure everyone who has Lyme gets a rash. My nephew had it,,not sure he ever had a rash.

The "bull's eye" type rash is typical of Lyme, but there are others that cause rashes. Also, if he caught the tick quickly or received medicine early on he might not have gotten it. I believe you can develop the bull's eye rash up to a month after the bite.

I feel like it is helping already. Have to take the meds on an empty stomach, no dairy within an hour because it binds with calcium.

@GardenGerty Good that it seems to be working . . . how are you feeling now? Interesting as in most cases we take meds after a meal.

I slept pretty well last night. We had a storm rush through and I think I may be reacting to the weather as well. The doctor agreed that I probably had an infection, due to my fasting blood sugars being elevated.

@GardenGerty It's likely. I react badly to storms and can tell when a hurricane is nearby just because of my reaction to preasure changes.
