Waiting for the thunderstorm

The girls and I have just finished eating our supper. We enjoyed the spaghetti that we made. It's nice when my daughters are on vacation -- they get to help me in the kitchen. They chopped ingredients and washed the dishes. I did the cooking. I'm slowly getting used to this infrared stove that we purchased recently. It's similar to induction but seems to heat up faster and can accommodate other non-induction cookware. (I really miss using a gas stove but it's not allowed here in our apartment residences.) From outside we can hear the thunder. I checked the weather and the nearest rain is about 3 kilometers from our place. (I would've calculated that on my own had I seen the lightning earlier. ) I wish it would rain a bit tonight. I'm sick of having to sleep with the A/C on. It's nice that I don't sweat but the whirring of the thing seeps through the insides of my brain and I tend to wake up every 4 hours or so. It's just me. My husband and daughters are so okay with the sound of the A/C when they sleep. Well, it's 8:44 p.m. I've got some tidying up to do and maybe I'll write in my journal before I call it a night.
