Day 142 – Purification Numbers 19:1 Now JEHOVAH spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, 2 “This is the ordinance of the law which JEHOVAH commanded, saying, ‘Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring you a red heifer without blemish, in which there is no defect and on which a yoke has never come. 3 You will give it to Eleazar the priest, that he may take it outside the camp, and it will be slaughtered before him; 4 and Eleazar the priest will take some of its blood with his finger, and sprinkle some of its blood seven times directly in front of the tabernacle of meeting. 5 Then the heifer will be burned in his sight: its hide, its flesh, its blood, and its offal will be burned. 6 The priest will take cedar wood, hyssop, and scarlet, and cast them into the midst of the fire burning the heifer. 7 Then the priest will wash his clothes, he will bathe in water, and afterward he will come into the camp; the priest will be unclean until evening. 8 The one who burns it will wash his clothes in water, bathe in water, and will be unclean until evening. 9 Then a man who is clean will gather up the ashes of the heifer and store them outside the camp in a clean place; and they will be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for the water of purification; it is for purifying from sin. 10 The one who gathers the ashes of the heifer will wash his clothes and be unclean until evening. It will be a statute forever to the children of Israel and to the stranger who dwells among them. God’s name: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Yeshuwa – Jesus Christos – Anointed One, Messiah Theos – Supreme Divinity, God God’s character: Pure Holy What does it mean to purify something? The dictionary gives several meanings. 1. To make pure; free from anything that debases, pollutes, adulterates, or contaminates: to purify metals. 2. To free from foreign, extraneous, or objectionable elements: to purify a language. 3. To free from guilt or evil. 4. To clear or purge (usually followed by of or from). 5. To make clean for ceremonial or ritual use. Dictionary.com JEHOVAH told Moses and Aaron to have Eleazar take a red heifer outside the camp to a clean place, kill it, and sprinkle its blood seven times directly in front of the tabernacle of meeting. Afterward he was to burn it completely and gather the ashes and store them for purification. Before you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you were unclean. When you accepted Him as Savior and Lord, His blood purified you from every sin you committed and every sin you would commit. Isaiah 1:16 “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, 17 learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow. 18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” says JEHOVAH, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool. 19 If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land; 20 but if you refuse and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword”; for the mouth of JEHOVAH has spoken. Paul in Romans showed how Yeshuwa’s blood cleansed you. Romans 5:6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christos died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But Theos demonstrates His love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christos died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we will be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to Theos through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we will be saved by His life. No one is without sin. Every day you must go before the throne of Theos, acknowledge your sin, and He will cleanse you. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (NKJV) You don’t need to sprinkle the blood of a bull to become pure. Yeshuwa already did it for you with His blood. When you accepted Yeshuwa, His blood covered you and purified you from every sin you committed. You are clean. You only need to confess your sin so the Father can cleanse you from the stain of guilt and shame. Let’s pray: Father, forgive me, cleanse me from my sin. Wash me in the blood of Jesus Christ so I can stand before You purified from every sin that keeps me from You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
