Had multiple attacks close to where I live here in FL. The teenage girl that was attacked is hanging in there..lost an arm in the attack, and at the hospital had a leg amputated...She lost 2/3 of her blood. Haven't heard much on the Older Lady. The girl's mother wrote on FB in Panama City Beach's page and explained how she was doing. I am adding a link to the local newscast about the shark attack.

And people wonder why I don't like swimming at the beach. Anything can happen when you are in the water connected to an open sea.

Haven't swam in the Gulf in many years now...Have swam in the Bays from time to time. Went wade fishing in St. Andrews Bay..felt something big pass me..ran out of that water faster than I have ever run before...I was only in water half way up to my thigh. Probably wasn't anything to worry about, but wasn't waiting to find out. I waited a while, and went back in..we wanted Sea Trout for supper. LOL

@Ghostlady That's 1 thing I never liked in ANY state I've been in & that's to trust the water enough to get in, i made a rule for me if I can't see my feet STAY out of the water, & that's a good rule.

@2ndchances24 Most of the time you can See your feet in the Bay OR the Gulf..when it is overcast you can still see your feet, but not as clear. I most always look down so I don't step on anything like a crab, or hermit crab, but that day I got bumped into, I had looked up to where Tom had waded way out to the channel. I can't go there as I'm too short. He wades out to where the water hits his chest. Where we go the water is shallow. I can walk out quite a ways before it even gets to my waist. We leave before dark.

I heard about these from another myLotter. What a dreadful thing to happen to anyone, let alone a young girl.

It's good to hear that the teenage girl is hanging in there, but it's heartbreaking to hear about the extent of her injuries. I hope both she and the older lady are receiving the best possible care and support during this difficult time.
