Alex Saw Spirits This Morning

We have a cat named Alex. This morning, I showered, opened the bathroom door to clear the mirror, and tried doing something with my unruly hair. Alex ran into the bathroom and his eyes got wide. He saw the misty mirror, jumped onto the counter (a big no-no), and tried to catch the fading steam while meowing pitifully. Then he just sat there stunned, eyes wild, and breathing fast. He saw something that was not really there. Do your pets ever act zany over something that is not there?

I've had heard Chilly just hiss for no apparent reason before. Or star at random spots for no reason, during unusal times.

@akalinus Chilly doesn't hiss much. He'll start growling at the vet, hisses if he gets his claws caught in my clothes, but is a very chill cat otherwise.

@kaylachan Cats don't seem to enjoy going to the vet very much. One poor cat at my son's house had a tumor removed from his ear and required multiple vet visits and a cone to keep him from scratching it. It finally healed but took a while. He does not like the vet at all.

I think he must see something and does not like it. I hope it is not evil. I have never heard our cats hiss except at the vet.

I've seen Tuffy run away from an area as if something was chasing him but he doesn't do that very often. In my opinion, the spirits of my past furmily comes here to check on me and that might scare Tuffy a little.

When our cats do that, I say that they have the zoomies. They race around for no reason that I can see. Do you think your past family checks on you? Does Tuffy act like that at a particular time or when something is going on at your house?

It's always random, he'll run from a corner in the living room then stops to look back at something.

@rebelann I think he sees something you don't see. Did you try using your phone to take pictures or a video of that spot when he acts that way? I have done that when the cats are weird but have not seen anything unusual. I keep trying, anyway.

I can imagine that if Nico is like our cats, he has the zoomies and the swoopies.

That's strange behaviour for a cat. I've never noticed that with the cats we've had.

Animals can see things that we can't.There is a large ground just in front of our house. Many times at night I have seen street dogs bark staring at something there. We cheacjed there what they were barking at;but found nothing.
