Day 148 – Complaints Numbers 21:4 Then they journeyed from Mount Hor by the Way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and the soul of the people became discouraged on the way. 5 The people spoke against Elohiym and against Moses, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread.” 6 Then JEHOVAH sent fiery serpents among the people and bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died. 7 Therefore, the people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against JEHOVAH and against you; pray to JEHOVAH that He take away the serpents from us.” Moses prayed for the people. 8 Then JEHOVAH said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it will happen that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, will live.” 9 Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so, it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived. God’s names: Elohiym – Mighty God JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Yeshuwa – Jesus Iesous – Jesus Christos – Anointed One, Messiah Theos – Supreme Divinity, God God’s character: Executioner Deliverer When people don’t like their circumstances, they complain. Even when their complaints are unfounded, they say the first thing that comes from their mouths. Israel became discouraged because of the long journey. They expected to be in the Promised Land long before then and complained against Elohiym and Moses. When they did, JEHOVAH sent fiery snakes to bite and kill them. Then the people admitted their sin and asked Moses to pray to JEHOVAH to take the snakes from them. JEHOVAH told Moses to make a bronze serpent and put it on a pole. Then those who looked at it would live. When did you complain last? Was it unfounded? Christians are no different than anyone else when it comes to complaining. Elohiym doesn’t send fiery serpents to bite you, but He might send trouble your way to let you know how displeased He is about your complaints. Your fiery serpent is Satan who troubles you and causes you to complain about everything. The children of Israel complained about the journey, lack of water, and the manna they ate. What is your complaint? You have a pole to look at today. It’s called the cross of Yeshuwa Christos. Yeshuwa told Nicodemus about the fiery serpent and what it did for the people and what He would do for the people. John 3:13 “No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. 14 As Moses lifted the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For Theos so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For Theos did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of Theos. When you stop complaining and look at the cross of Yeshuwa Christos, you will find your complaints were unfounded and sinful. When you confess your sin, Theos will forgive you. Every day is a blessing from Elohiym. Instead of complaining about your circumstances, praise Him for them and watch Elohiym bless you instead of sending trouble your way. Let’s pray: Father, forgive me for complaining instead of praising You for the many blessings You give me every day. Thank you for your Son who died so I can live. Give me a heart of praise and thanksgiving for everything You do for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 14 June 2024 by Valerie Routhieaux The image belongs to me.

I hope that my keeping everyone up to date with what's happening in my world and my husband's doesn't sound like complaining. I wouldn't complain because there are so many other people with lives more difficult than mine!!! Have a blessed weekend.
