It was a downpour

As the sun came up I watched an ominous gray sky. It did not get bright at all.
Just as we needed to head out for church, the sky opened and the rain poured. Our low spot turned into it's usual lake.
As we drove south we drove out of the storm in about fifteen minutes. When we got home the weather was sunny and hot.
The storm must have traveled quickly north and east as our friends at church had not had any rain today. It is Kansas. That is about what we can expect.

It rained here too yesterday morning. A real downpour as you had going to church. When church ended, it was done, and the sun came out hot.
I'm glad the rain stopped by the time you were out of church.

Sometimes, it does seem like the heavens open. It's tricky driving in torrential rain.
