Healing Takes Time

It's been a few years since my five-year relationship ended abruptly, leaving me with more questions than answers. My ex-boyfriend, whom I had shared countless memories with, suddenly stopped communicating, and I was left wondering why.
The days turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, as I struggled to make sense of it all. I kept asking myself what I did wrong, why he had chosen to leave without a word. The pain was overwhelming, and it felt like I would never heal from the heartache.
But as time passed, I slowly began to find peace. I realized that closure doesn't always come in the form of an explanation from the other person. Sometimes, closure comes from within, from accepting that some things are beyond our control.
I started focusing on myself, rediscovering my passions and hobbies that I had set aside during the relationship. I surrounded myself with friends and family who uplifted me and reminded me of my worth.
Today, I can say that I've moved on. The pain has lessened, and I've grown stronger from the experience. Healing takes time, and it's okay to take as much time as you need. Trust that brighter days are ahead, and you will emerge from this stronger than ever before.

@SIDIKIMPOLE I'm so sorry you went through that, but it's wonderful to hear that you had a friend who helped you through such a tough time. Moving on is a powerful step, and I'm glad you found your way.

My girlfriend did this to me about a decade ago. Got into depression when I heard she was with another man. I in fact started drinking dangerously until I got a friend who stood with me and counseled me. Then I moved on!

Five years seems long to deal with your loss. Hope it is history now and you are on your way to finding new love.

What I've learned is that healing isn't linear. Some days you are doing good and then some days you find yourself feeling down.
