What is WRONG with People?

Vacations should be enjoyed to the fullest, and you should do things maybe you have never done before..Or spend time with your families..what you should NOT be doing is planning a funeral for a loved one. The Gulf of Mexico is beautiful, and the beaches are white as snow..but in that beautiful Emerald water lives various species of Sharks and Whales. Along with those there is a thing called a Rip Tide that can grab you and send you out away from land. That Rip Tide is why our local Govt. puts up Double Red Flags. Those flags tell you the Gulf is Closed..That means you stay out of it. One Red Flag says you can only go in the water KNEE Deep. But...we have visitors who apparently do not think those flags are for them. We have had several drownings, multiple rescues of people who do not follow the rules...think because they can swim, they will be okay. I can swim like a fish and have got caught in a rip tide, but I know what to do, and did not panic. Most people who have never been in one, panic..not only do they put their Own life in danger, they put other people's lives in danger trying to Save them. But..not only 2 red flags were flying today...we have had shark attacks this month as well. A couple of hours ago 2 people were rescued from the Gulf. Just wondering what IDIOT goes into the Gulf at NIGHT. You can not see if a shark is coming at you in the Dark, and they do most of their feeding at Night closer to shore. Not saying there were sharks at this rescue, but Still..just stupid to go in the water at NIGHT. Maybe they should start showing Jaws again..at the beginning of the movie a lady is in the water swimming and Jaws kills her. HELLO! Sorry, but really when you visit a place you have never been to, and in your room, in the lobby of businesses you see a Notice about the Flag System...READ IT!
