Here, our marriage season will begin in a couple of months or so. A lot of weddings will take place then. Have you attended anyone's marriage lately? Have you experienced anything out of the way there? How has the entire ceremony been?

My experience - it was rush hour. Every one was rushing .They have a glimpse of the marriage and then alongwith family, rush to the food tables. There is a big queue awaiting for people to have their feast. Sometimes, I do wonder if they came for the marriage or for the food. Once the feasting is done, talk to few people and for courtesy meet the new weds and family .Post that leave the place. There was not a big crowd though the rush is something I have not seen even in super markets /malls.

I don't know mate from which country you are. But you are kind of describing things that I experience in our area. I totally agree with you. People, even the rich ones, or the well to do ones reach out for the eating tables as if they haven't got the feast to eat for a while. Or as if they don't afford these things. The rush is such that, they won't get to eat those things again in their lives. I've actually seen people who don't even greet the couple. They just make their presence felt. And that's it. Secondly, people do meet. Right. Even if it's for courtesy. But the flip side is that, it's these occasions that bring the people in our society closer. At least they meet. Otherwise, who has time to meet other people knowingly.
